It shows how hung up on names some people are to think that "republican" or "democrat" titles mean anything in this case.

If tomorrow the entire republican party became pro-choice would you still call them the "pro life" party?

There are well documented books and articles showing how the party voting patterns have shifted over the years. White supremacists used to be part of the democrats, now they're part of the republican party. What do you think is more important, what party name they call themselves, or what they stand for?

Dude.
It's a comic strip. Intended for humor, in this instance by using irony.
Don't over think it.
Everything in life isn't a science experiment that requires you to grade it for accuracy.

You want truth?
Talk about which party forced Japanese Americans into concentration camps. Often at gun point in the wee hours of the morning with screaming kids. Todays indoctrinated liberals don't want to hear that, even though most of the democrat liberal concepts were born during this same timeframe.

Talk about the JFK democratic party. With his phrase "Ask not...."
Think about what today's democrats do instead.

But none of that is funny.
Although it does make us feel like Lucy pulled the proverbial football away at the last moment...

Attempting to prove a point using a comic strip IS comical.

Here's a nickel. Go have a talk with Lucy at her booth. By now she may even be able to prescribe you some meds.

When in doubt throw a race card around and see if it sticks.
