It seems I've picked up a nasty sinus infection so, it got me to thinking about hot sauces. I'm gonna fix myself a Zing Zang bloody Mary with an extra dash of Tapatio.

What's your favorite bottled hot sauce?

Sriracha on eggs and sometimes in bloody marys

El Yucateco for most everything Mexican and sometimes on eggs

Mad Dog 357 when I'm feeling ambitious or spicing up some chili or anything smokey flavored in a large batch.

I've not the intestinal fortitude to break the wax seal.

I fear if I so much as break the seal and survive, the very gates of hell will descend upon my colon the next morning.

You have my attention....

My favorite hot sauce is made at the local farmers market. It doesn't have a name, the guy bottles it with a label that looks like old school cartoon poison labels.

It contains a pile of ghost peppers and a bunch of other stuff.

Love me some well made hot sauce, regardless the heat scale.

But the 3am reserve is just an extract, so I really doubt there's gonna be much flavor involved.

The Mad Dog 357 is an excellent sauce, just too hot. Flavor is fantastic, wish I could use more. But literally a toothpick dipped in it, and then dragged along a tortilla or dabbed on a cracker/chip is all I can do. If you can see the sauce on the food, it's too much.

Sounds serious. If you need rubber gloves and a face mask just to open the bottle then it might be a tad too hot for me. 😇

I keep three for different uses:

Matouk's from Trinidad for sandwhiches

Cholula for spicy honey mustard and cooking

One from Brazil that a friend brings me when he goes home that inuse primarily on pasta dishes. I'll have to check the name on that one.

Depends on the application, but I like Tabasco, Tapatio, and Sriracha.

I can have them on just about anything that needs a little spice.

I have grown fond of the Tabasco Chipotle hot sauce. Loads of smoky flavor and not too hot.

If you're afraid to use it or it comes with some warning or goggles and gloves...I don't have a need for it.

I'll use whatever...A couple that haven't been mentioned...

If you're looking for sheer heat why mix in a few chopped *ghost* peppers? If you want to add a certain flavor profile asking for that here is like asking for a cigar recommendation.

Local Mexican restaurant had this stuff called Valentina. I since found it at Walmart comes in two styles one has a yellow label and is mild. The other label is black and has a little heat to it. Best of all its dirt cheap for a huge almost liter sized bottle and its pretty good on about everything.

We've quit buying chipotle Tabasco since finding this stuff.

Valentina and cholula are excellent Mexican sauces. Usually have one or both in the fridge, but don't use em as much as the Yucateco. Usually use em more for egg n breakfast dishes
