CBid is mentioned in the December 9 issue of Forbes in an article entitled Revenge of the Pipsqueaks. It will be interesting to see how much traffic the article generates with the statement that prices average 40% off retail, selection is deep, and bidding often light.

it's all in the name of progress I guess. At least we could be offered discount shares in the company...

Isn't that a magazine for rich businessmen that do not have time or care about prices. Sounds like a new batch of overbidders on the way.

Exactly my point Getyourown....Watch the prices skyrocket now..Some serious (kill the dead horse) overbidding will occur in the near future

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I don't envision a horde of rich overbidders who don't care about prices descending on CBid as a result of the article ... while it may well be that the article drives traffic to the site, my take is that it won't be "rich guys who don't care about prices ..."

IMNSHO, rich wastrels won't be likely to change their present buying habits and are unlikely to go to the trouble of bidding against commoners and blue collar "rabble" for a 5 pack of smokes ...

BUT, the fact of the matter is that most people with means did not acquire those means by "not caring about price" ... they are seldom wasteful and in fact, are far more likely to be rather frugal ... that sort of folks may very well arrive as newbies and compete with us, but are highly unlikely to be overbidders ...

Hey guys, Forbes picked another web site (competing cigar operartion) as Best of the Web for cigars in 2001 and I do not think that has affected anything over there! So, I would not read much into this article and the results.......I subscribe to Forbes and I am not a "rich business man"!
