years ago in order to get into parker arizona and water ski on the lake. everyone young was stopped. the road was a two lane highway and the arizona police waived families and adults through. cars were searched, people were required to have id's, it was profiling at its finest. it could take two or three hours waiting in line to get through. many a person peed in his or her pants while waiting.

it stopped the flow of trouble makers and general all around problem people.

you make the cost of being a problem too high to bear.

as they say at the airports given a choice between a littlke old lady, or a family with children or a single 20 - 30 year old male with a foriegn passport, who should get extra scrutiny.

when toby and i left colombia 15 odd years ago after a visit, we were all but strip searched along with everyone else. that was way before the terror problems that we have now.

i think it will take a new york cop to retake the streets.
