He should do it, and figure out a place to safeguard his retirement nest-egg before Trump and the Republicans steal it...

Retirement starts for me June 1. More like semiretirement since I'm self employed.

Goodbye California, Hello Idaho.

Presently one's retirement is safer with the right than the left. I think I'm correct in saying that it was the left that was hatching a plan in O's first term to take control of all the state's retirement plans.

Evidently they determine they would never recover from the chit storm they were about to start.

True, but rest assured the democrats want to get their greedy hands on 401k money, to protect the retires... and spend it like they have the Social Security reserve funds.

For those poor bass turds still working, FU money status made working for the man a lot easier. I kept a copy of the cartoon in my office too.

Retired 2years ago. Have plenty of hobbies n enough dough to live an ok life style (good cigars n booze). Took 3 months off & decided I wanted to go back to work. Started my own consulting business thinking I would only work no more than 3 days a week. Within 6 months it became a full time job ( which I did not want). Continued this until this January when I got sick. Now working 2 days a week at the most. Planning on taking off most of the summer & enjoy my Myrtle Beach house. I guess full time retirement is not for everyone.

Your 401K must've been one of the few that didn't get wiped out, twice, during Republican administrations ('late 80's and 2007-8) that believed wealthy financial institutions would work better for America when de-regulated. Mine, along with retirement savings of most people I know, all average hard-working tax-paying Americans, took huge losses. Trump and the Reps have already promised to throw the Dodd-Frank regs into the crapper when he is President. Believe me...let me tell you...hold onto your wallets, people...or find someplace to hide your money...

That sucks. Mine definitely had some ups and downs, however, as recommended by our fund manager, I had more volatile funds when I was younger going to more conservative as I aged. The more volatile funds do go down, however they typically recover much quicker, however, you need more years to retirement to allow the recovery.

The difference with a 401k fund when you die your heirs inherit the money, with pensions and Social Security, your spouse get some small percent and the rest evaporates.
