Only served on Wednesdays, the CPP at The Crest Tavern in Wildwood Crest NJ, is BY FAR the best I've ever had.

Looks similar to the one they serve in Dupar's at the Golden Gate in Vegas.Wifey and I always make it a point to stop in at least once.

And today, my doctor informed me that my HgbA1C is 7.9 😢

That MAY have been the only time I will ever get to enjoy that fine Chicken Pot Pie.
Major dietary changes on the horizon. 😞

Yummy...gonna be hard to get that A1C below 7, but it's doable...I don't miss the scotch, tequila and beer as much as I thought...or the sweets, like candy, cookies and cakes...but I do miss the chips, crackers, breads and pasta. Fresh meats, fish, fresh veggies and fruit, oatmeal and other grains have became my diet.Took me 2 months to go from 7.2 to 6.5.

Well, I don't drink much, other than an occasional beer or glass of wine, so alcohol is not a problem. Not much of a "sweets" guy either, so that is easy . . . BUT . . . I am REALLY having trouble letting go of the bread and pasta.
I'm learning to cook differently and learning to live with pretty much the same diet as you listed.
Also,. my doctor has me taking medication twice a day to help me lower my A1C.
