is there a reason he can't shut the **** up? his latests advice is that Trump not try to "reset relations" with Russia... Why not exactly? Shouldn't our president try to get on good terms with any global leaders he can? Not sure why people on both sides of the political aisle feel it's ok for us to be buddy-buddy with china but somehow russia is off limits because they don't handle any of our production...

I'm with McCain on the Russia thing. They are trying to destroy NATO (I don't blame them it's in their best interest) and Putin is a KGB thug.

Most everything else McCain is a dolt. But I totally disagree with Trump on Russia. It reminds me of Bush looking into Putins dreamy eyes and seeing his soul.

China is about a billion times worse on human rights issues... as are all the middle east countries we deal with... yet russia tries to do away with a trade agreement that hads left their economy reeling and that makes putin a bad man?

Russia is protecting Russia.

Something we used to do before globalism, agenda 21 and agenda 2030.

Protect the bankers at all costs!!!

McShame is a POS politician that should have gone out to pasture long ago. He's not a statesman he's a schill.

Thanks Arizona.

Russia is protecting Russia. Agreed. We need to protect ou self. Agreed. I just disagree that capitulating to Russia is protecting us. We should have done more when they invaded their neighbors and in syria. Obammy allowed Russia to grow stronger and I'm afraid Trump will formalize that.

That said it is an interesting discussion in which I am open to more information and to rethink. I'm the same with Iran as well. I am unsure why either needs to be a forever enemy. Iran is a relatively new enemy yet folks (including Trump) act as if it must be forever. Yet Russia (an older and more powerful enemy) seems to be of interest to him.

its an evolving area in which new information could change my mind. I remain skeptical of both Iran and Russia however.

As for McCain.... in this instance he is squarely on the normal Republican line... Trump is not. Good or bad.

Ya know, good possibility russia was thinking the same thing on syria...

we got there first (you'll recall, mccain flew over and met up with some thug rebels who were later seen on cell phone cam eating the heart of one of their enemies, remember?)

and Russia probably got to thinking, "hey, we should do more about the US helping to overthrow the legitimate government of a country so far away from them we're surprised they knew it existed, but they have oil, so hey, we shouldn't be that surprised...

as far as the crimea annexation, meh, let the people of crimea speak... they seem pretty happy with russian rule and they were heavily russian influenced prior to the annexation...

There are strategic implications to that and the Ukraine

It's a reasonable position to want to pull back from world affairs. To me that would be truly leading from behind which is Ombamas mistake. If we want to become softer on Russia so be it, but I think thats a rough path to follow. Understanding them wanting to protect their best interests is one thing. Allowing them or helping them to do so is another. it's a paradigm shift I'm not quite ready to accept but that doesn't necessarily make it wrong. I'm just not there yet. And I don't trust Putin. I think he's already playing a new cold war and winning with Obama and about to win Big League with Trump.

Cartels run wild in mexico... child trafficking, murder, rape, and government brutality run rampant across south american continent...

we're not noticeably involved in any of those situations...

but you want to call allowing a very small piece of land with a population less than that of san diego county that exists about as far away from us as anything on the map - allowing that little piece of land that exists to be taken BACK by russia (used to be theirs) - you call that pulling back from world affairs?

There are strategic implications there that do not exist in Mexico. Trump does not speak of Mexico the same way he does Russia or China.

By the way I am not arguing. I can be convinced. This is an issue I have no desire to demagogue or even care about party position. It's also one that is very complex and there likely is not one true answer. Its a good productive discussion and Trump has opened it up for discussion which is not a bad thing at all.

So far I'm not with him though. But it's still the beginning of the discussion.

Russia is allies with Syria.

What would the US do if Canada had an internal problem with terrorists? Help.

What would the US do if another nation ARMED those terrorists? Now look at what Russia has done.

The chemical weapons were not used BY the Syrian government, they were used by people who were using propoganda.

Putin ...
Is the furthest thing from a thug.

He is a KGB phenomenon.
A grassroots foot soldier,
Street wise field operative,
Slow rising and calculating...
Always gathering dirty Intel ( which I AM equally good at) on the hierarchy above him .... genius...
N.E.V.E.R. sell him short...
You will lose every time.

I'm not selling him short. I've read a few books about him and find him fascinating. Maybe smart, but still a thug.
