Just purchased the display RyJ humidor. Any suggestions as to the appropriate humidifier and hygrometer to use with something this size? It seems the humi comes with neither.
Thanks

I can't say I really know much, but my wife got me a Prometheus humi about 7 months ago. It came with a Prometheus humidifier (long and black that attaches to the inside with a magnet) and it seems to work great.

Get a digital hygrometer ... forget the analogs, unless you want to have one for "show"

There are a number of good choices for a humidifier and all work well ... Oshkosh is a good one, for example but if it were me (and at my house it is), I'd skip buying any of them and spend the money on cigars ... I make my own humidifiers and they work great ... I suggest Rickamavens idea of using a travel soap dish with a chunk of that green florist foam cut to fit ... be sure it's the wet foam and not the dry, which will not work at all ... drill holes in the lid of the soap dish and VOILA ... a first class high capacity humidifier ... cheap too. Look at the pics board where you can even find a picture of one Rick put in a plastic sweater box that has a cigar box bottom in it ... doesn't look fancy, but it sure will work ...

fancy is in the eye of the looker. i see a soap dish humidifier that works. when i look at one of those credo things i see money wasted and constant trouble trying desperately to maintain the precious 70.

DougE send me an email and i'll send you the "secret" article that most of us know about.

So your the lucky guy from Moore, Okla. I almost bid against in the last minutes of the auction. Let me know what you think of it, when received, maybe I'll get the next one. Sure looks pretty. I was born and raised in Tulsa, been so long, can't remember where Moore was.

Moore is just south of OKC on I-35. Depending on how long ago you may remember it as a little town but now it is a suburb of OKC (IMHO). I like OKC pretty much I work at Tinker for the USAF.

All my family lives in and around Tulsa, I was black sheep in family and left 33 years ago, still enjoy a visit, too humid in summer. Eight states later, I now live in Boston. Anyway enjoy your new humi let me know what you think. One thing I was wondering, was if it could hold a box in the drawer?

I work for the Navy at the Communications Station in Norfolk, and we have a message delivery circuit with Tinker AFB. Those guys are always sending out messages with wrong format. Gets on our nerves....

But, congratulations on your win.

If size permits, but a Cigar Oasis.

I've had 2 of them for 4 years and they work better than any other device I have tried.

Trust me, skip all the straight foam, and 50/50 humidifiers. The only thing better is the Humidipak, but it is best used for short-term storage.

Hey Doug! I grew up in Moore...well S. OKC, 119th and S Western to be exact. I am stationed out here at Shaw SC now, and work Munitions. Good luck with your Humi.
