Trump continuously exposes himself to criticism, caricature and condemnation...his latest self-immolation exposes his azz to be much larger than his heart and his brain, the two organs in his body that are in a death struggle to prove which is the least consequential of his body...

First, his refusal to even say John McCain's name when praising the passage of a Congressional military spending bill named in McCain's honor...

then his refusal to sign, and his order to the WH communications dept. not to issue, a previously prepared statement in remembrance after McCain's death...

finally, having the WH fly the flag at full height this morning, until a public outrage compelled him to lower it in McCain's honor...

I didn't vote for McCain, disagreed with a lot that he did, believed he would've gotten us deeper into conflict with Iran and the ME...but wow...

He's just trying to piss off fellow Dems... 😟

And if you want to compare petty, McCain votes against his party the wishes of his state hoping our President will fail just because Trump shared his personal feelings about him... Much worse was said here about McCain when he was running against Obama...
But it's another reason to bash Trump so go for it...

Actually drafter... I don't think that much negative was said about McCain here. I have a recollection of that year, and I don't think anyone was particularly negative about him. I am pretty sure I didn't say much about him that was negative. Just his idiotic running mate.

But to Delta's point, he literally didn't have to do anything. The normal White House machinery would have handled releasing any messages, flag position, etc.... It seems to me that trump actually had to expend effort to have it turn out like it did.

But truth be told, if the claims are true about McCain telling Trump to steer clear of his funeral, then McCain was Petty first.

This was a common comment here when he ran for POTUS. I assume it was said because he never checked his brain at the door of the republican party. The republican party has become the party of zero tolerance for anyone who doesn't tow the line 100%.

I supported and voted for McCain even when he followed bad advice and took on Palin. 🌫
