Again, the world grows a little smaller. He was unique and original.

Fondly remember his SNL performances. We used to play his albums in the store when I worked in the retail record biz.

RIP Leon.

Leon was "da man' !

I've been a fan since I first saw him on SNL, SO many years ago.

Quite a few of his songs on my granddaughter's "lullaby playlist".

Lullaby Baby Blues

Prairie Lullaby

When You Wish Upon A Star

Why

to name a few.

RIP Mr Redbone.

Leon Redbone - Bouquet Of Roses - love this song

Love the slide guitar accompaniment - feels like you're in a bygone era.

Sounds like a more gravelly, soulful version of Bing Crosby.

Who influenced who?

And speaking of music from a bygone era, this is one of my favorites in this class -

Dean Martin - Sway

I'm too young to be getting in this chit, aren't I???

Wife will be upset in the AM - big Leon fan. I took her to see him perform twice, once only 4 miles from home.

Actual name: Dickran Gobalian

Is this a reference to the song by the group Redbone, called “Come and Get Your Love”? 🤔

I posted a documentary link in the what you listening to topic. Little is known about Leon and tho he was a cigar smoker - I have no idea what he smoked. I can understand why he came up with another name tho.
