Why even pretend to tell the truth anymore?

There are some conditions that must be met before that no conditions meeting takes place... Not exactly the same as a lie...

Telling the truth doesn't matter when we are told truth is subjective

Oh how evolved we are

I mean it’s plain as day but his supporters will still claim it isn’t. It’s truly Orwellian.

So Trump didn't send 400 million in cash to Iran, cool. Too good to pass up, but our conservatives did.

Maybe he meant no conditioner. He wasn’t going to use any if he met with them.

Defense of this dolt gets crazier and crazier.

the truth doesn't matter...from the first day, he told us he was gonna give us alternative facts and he has delivered...

either those on his bandwagon believe him and accept his alternative facts as reality or they forgive his lies because they like the results...

the rest of us need to persist in demanding the facts and that our leaders tell the truth...if not we hold them responsible on election day...

Can you point to a time when there were for politicians in America? They campaign on one thing and do something totally different once elected... Its the American political model... Why hold this sack of crap to a suddenly different standard?

tw was zeroing in on Trump's latest stance on meeting with the Iranians...he has said on many occasions in the past that he'd meet with them without pre-conditions/conditions...

now he's saying he never said he'd meet with the Iranians without conditions...

I view broken campaign promises as different than lies. To me things change, the other party partially gets their way etc. the resolution for that is the next election and plenty of those have come back to haunt. Read my lips comes to mind. Trump has a bunch of these including the Mexicans will pay for the wall.

When I say lies I’m not talking about Brocken promises or changing minds. I’m talking flat out lies. Clinton flat out lied and was impeached for it.

For example.... saying you will meet with someone with no conditions then insisting on conditions could have legitimate reasons for doing so. That can be debated. Saying I never said no conditions when it has been recorded multiple times (not just once) and was your regular talking point is a flat out lie and has never been acceptable.

I don’t get your point Z because I wasn’t speaking to being a Saudi lacky or not. It could be argued leaving the Iran deal and now insisting on conditions is being a Saudi lacky. However renegotiating the same deal with a higher payoff to Iran could be the opposite. It’s hard to tell with this schizophrenic policy.

What is new to me is the sheer volume of provable lies (not broken promises) and folks comfort with it. Getting caught in a cold hard proveable lie used to have consequences and tanked many careers. Now it’s the norm. If we re-elect this idiot we will condone it.

although Trump did sound like a Saudi attack dog at first ....

here's Trump's tweet: "locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!"

how else can this be interpreted?

Those were Saudi oil production facilities that were destroyed/not American...on Saudi land/not US soil...and Trump's first reaction is "tell me who to blast"....smh...

Trump has been so wildly inconsistent in foreign policy since he's been POTUS that any thing he says can't be trusted or believed unless clarified numerous times and then subject to change if he chats with someone else...gobbledygook is the name of this game...
