Considering the state of NFL QB's today, Kaepernick should be getting looks from some teams.

What say you?

How many people have played qb in the nfl who no longer play in the nfl but could play if they got the call?

My guess is a lot...

My guess is also that kapernicks call is coming right after Tebow's...

Are there over 60 hurt qbs?

Most teams carry 3 plus maybe one practice squad qb, no? At least they used to. That means to me there's some 60 guys who've already been declared as more ready or able or whatever...to start....than Kap, Tebow or anyone else. Right?

Then again, with the QBs bubble boy officiating, you could probably put Favre or Kurt Warner or even Aikman out there to read a d, stand and chuck it better than some of the guys I've watched

How are these guys even getting hurt

He should be playing. There are much bigger divas who are. I never found him great, but he is an upgrade to what is currently playing for many of the teams above.

However..... I think there is another issue with him beyond the kneeling thing. While he is better than many playing, I think his $$ demands are not proportional to his talent. He'd need to come in cheap ie backup dollahs not all pro dallah.

And tebow always sucked as a pro

Comparisons of the fates of Tebow and CK are way off base.

Tebow simply can't throw at an NFL level, and he never could. Period.

He moved on to baseball anyway...total nonsense that he has been blackballed due to religious demonstrations in games. Might have drawn complaints from some of the viewing public and columnists but actually led to much popularity and fame and caught on with positive public mimicking much like the Pete Frates Ice Water Challenge...lots of videos were posted for a couple of years...even led to network TV gigs like a bit he used to do on Good Morning America or some equivalent mainstream network show.
Was playing for a minor league team in the Mets system, at least was still at it early this season...another sport in which he sucked
Never been blackballed anywhere other than the Wiccan Society maybe

So Tebow has had multiple chances in two sports for reasons excluding talent. Has had national television opportunities. All despite kneeling, crossing or whatever else he did, proclaiming his virginity and stuff...a bit much for me but I'd hire him for any job if he could do it.

CK may believe he is a starter level QB, and he is incorrect about that. But he is very likely a far superior option as a 2nd or 3rd string QB to several who are currently forced to be starting this week.
Some are his demands, much has been being blackballed.

He couldn’t beat out BLAINE FUGGING GABBERT......

If he can get a job more power to him. It’s a what have you done for me lately sport. He hasn’t done anything.

And let’s be sure to fail to mention the crap he pulled with the Ravens ownership, THAT is why he won’t get a job other than his wonderful work he does for Nike.

Your hatred of all things Tebow is duly noted.

I joke, but please don't bring up Tebow's kneeling when we're discussing Kaepernick. Unless you think a personal celebratory kneel/pray is equally egregious to a (supposed) personal protest during the national anthem.

I won't even mention the off field comparison.
One can't contain his love for his God.
The other can't contain his hatred for law enforcement.

OK.
I will mention it.

Kaepernick is a PUNK.
His skill level didn't justify spending money on him considering the PR distraction due to said punk-ness.
But today it probably does.

He's not the devil.
And if TB12 went down for the season I'd take a hard look at him.

But I'm a Pats fan.
I have no soul.

I missed where I said I hate Tebow. Even said I'd hire him if he could do the job... I've yet to see what he has mastered career wise, yet he will out earn most of us in his life. But he will likely donate a good chunk too, start philanthropies/foundations, do a lot of good helpful things for other humans with his money and his personal time.
I always found him an appealing person, clean living, dedicated, devoted, good leadership qualities, better morals than me.

My real point is that I believe it is a stretch to think neither is in the NFL now for anything close to the same reasons.
Tebow probably got even more shots in many areas due to the stuff that got him noticed, totally an opposite reaction.
He believes, and believes strongly, I know others of my acquaintance who can match his faith, maybe beat it. No issue for me.

But he is also the face of a brand and there might just be the tiniest bit of marketing...not positive, but not many climb to fame during and after a poor career without at least some publicist's help.
And I'm perfectly OK with that if it is happening. Everyone needs to get paid.

The nation has long accepted displays of religious beliefs in sports. Seems like every home run has the batter either pointing skyward or crossing himself before crossing home plate.
I've seen boxers begin post-bout interviews thanking their Lord and Savior for choosing them to bash in the other person's brains instead of the other way around.
I've also seen Adrian Gonzalez (sp?) kill the competitive mood of a Red Sox team by shrugging off defeat as God's will.
It's all ok by me. But I was happy when AGon was traded!

I have to admit that I do not know very much if anything at all about CK off the field, other than I believe he was adopted by white parents. Which doesn't tell me anything either.
I'm guessing here, but I don't know that he hates police or not, though I am certain he hates what he believes to be his perception of their use of force unnecessarily and disproportionately against his race.

Factually correct or not, he has become probably the most despised athlete I can think of, other than the convicted rapists/killers.

at least we agree that he'd be worth a look if Brady went down!

Frank,
You spend 10 minutes trying to convince us that you're "OK" with the religious based displays in sports.
Then you admit that you were glad when the Sox traded Gonzalez.

At the time, AGon was among the best sluggers in baseball.

So why were you glad he was traded?

Can't be his chest-thump and pointing to the sky. You just convinced us that you were OK with it...

I boycotted them when I figured out most of their shoes really suck especially for the money..... I've never cared enough about a celebrity one way or another to make purchasing decisions based on them.
