So if the father is correct, parents who save money to put their child through college shouldn’t be reimbursed, but those who rack up student loans to do the same should have those loans forgiven?

Sounds like she advocates socializing education. Why pay for something taxpayers can pay for instead?

Unfortunately neither party is the party of fiscal responsibility. No one is watching the bottom line. Sanders and warren are potential problems that will likely never get elected. Trumpy McBanckrupt and our current Congress is a kinetic problem.

He should have then asked "If you're so concerned about the cost of college, why did you think it ok to accept over $400,000 for teaching two classes???? And why is it OK for your husband to earn almost a half million per year to teach college?????"

They could easily pay for it by converting the United States to the MMT theory of economics. If this is a good idea or a bad idea is certainly debatable, but there is a way to pay for this.
