It seems Herr Biden had taken on the task of Reality Czar himself when he announced that he is abolishing the "offensive" 1776 Commission started by former President Donald Trump that focused on "patriotic education." Biden called it "harmful" and "counterfactual," adding banning it will help national unity."
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2021/01/26/biden_abolishes_offensive_1776_project_unity_and_healing_must_begin_with_understanding_and_truth_not_ignorance_and_lies.html

It not that I approve of everything in the 1776 Project Report, after all it has its unfortunate stain of neocon nationalism in it, it's the idea that Herr Biden thinks he can wipe it away with a stroke of his pen so he can preach his own progressive wokeness reality.

The reports wasn't kind to "progressivism" either, it was very accurate and truthful in that respect which I'm sure offended Herr Biden immensely.😂

Just the last few paragraphs here on the subject of progressivism:

More significantly, the Progressives held that truths
were not permanent but only relative to their time.
They rejected the self-evident truth of the Declaration
that all men are created equal and are endowed equally,
either by nature or by God, with unchanging rights. As
one prominent Progressive historian wrote in 1922,
“To ask whether the natural rights philosophy of the
Declaration of Independence is true or false, is
essentially a meaningless question.” Instead,
Progressives believed there were only group rights that
are constantly redefined and change with the times.
Indeed, society has the power and obligation not only to
define and grant new rights, but also to take old rights
away as the country develops.

Based on this false understanding of rights, the
Progressives designed a new system of government.
Instead of securing fundamental rights grounded in
nature, government—operating under a new theory of
the “living” Constitution—should constantly evolve to
secure evolving rights.

In order to keep up with these changes, government
would be run more and more by credentialed
managers, who would direct society through rules and
regulations that mold to the currents of the time.
Before he became President of the United States,
Woodrow Wilson laid out this new system whereby
“the functions of government are in a very real sense
independent of legislation, and even constitutions,”
meaning that this new view of government would
operate independent of the people.

Far from creating an omniscient body of civil servants
led only by “pragmatism” or “science,” though,
progressives instead created what amounts to a fourth
branch of government called at times the bureaucracy
or the administrative state. This shadow government
never faces elections and today operates largely without
checks and balances. The founders always opposed
government unaccountable to the people and without
constitutional restraint, yet it continues to grow around
us.

Well, that's what happens if you don't go through congress... especially with something as stupid as the 1776 Commission... stroke of the pen in, stroke of the pen out.

It's been established.

Revisionist history doesn't work in today's age... there's too much real and factual information out there, even if you don't like it... you can't wish it away.

To the contrary revisionism is important. For instance, how would you know what is real and factual information if no one really looked carefully into the subject and compared it to the standard dumbed down public school narratives that they tell us is the only acceptable opinions. It's that stark difference between education and indoctrination.

To contribute to the scholarship on the subject, historians cannot simply restate the narrative that already exists; they must expand, refute, or revise the existing narrative according to new evidence and new analyses. This is exactly what the profession of history entails.

Credence of the source is important. You want to be as accurate as possible and include as few partisan opinion pieces as possible. It doesn't benefit your world view, but that's just the way it is.

If you look at time periods historically, we are naturally progressing in a certain direction as a species, with every generation being far more civilized and humane than the last. You would really want to introduce doctored up history that would directly contradict the evolution of our species and our civilizations?

Revisionism is why the far left has sought out control in language and information.

I don't agree with it no matter who does it. There's always going to be points of ambiguity though, therefore room for debate and subjective, it's not like you can go back and watch it for yourself.

What I'm arguing is you shouldn't push a subjective opinion... you should label them as points of ambiguity so interpretations aren't used as faulty premises.

Yep, that's pretty much it Z, censorship and cancel culture is the progressive way to stymie revising their doctored up history of the world.

Benny still thinks progressing toward authoritarianism is a sign of a more civilized and humane world to come..
If the rise of leftism in the bloody 20th Century didn't cure him of that notion, I don't know what will. There's nothing subjective about it, the same old bad ideas surface again today.

Herr Biden will fix it, all American history will be interpreted through the prism of Critical Race Theory. He's pretty much made it clear that systemic racism explains everything and is the cause of everything.

No Frank, statists like neo-nazi's, communists, neoconservatives and other progressives have a fixed history that is designed to bolster their ideology and even whitewash or glorify their past failures and evils. Their historians are the gatekeepers of what is acceptable history, they shun historians who actually study the primary source materials and present evidence that might contradict their official narrative. If they could they would ban and burn all dissident books that might present truths that might be embarrassing to them. They are not unlike the Ministry of Truth in Orwell's 1984. Remember "Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past."
He that is against historical revisionism is against discovering the truth itself.
