I love a good confident review

I don't think that I can match the imagination (or hallucinations) of Opel but here goes my first review.

Cigar A
6.5 Inches, 52 Ring rich chocolate brown wrapper. Very veiny with some very dominant stems just under the wrapper (stems didn't affect the burn).

After slicing with the Xicar Guillotin, the cold draw was easy and had no signs of pepper but a slight sweet flavor, very nice and not too sweet.

Cigar A lit very easily with a two flame jet lighter. Burn is perfect and remained even through the whole burn. One inch in and the flavor profile seems VERY familiar (or at least my brain is fooled into thinking so.) This cigar put out serious clouds of smoke. The draw was smooth, creating a neat burn with a medium gray ash. I can't seem to draw out the exact flavor on this cigar but I have definitely smoked this cigar or blend before.

2nd third of the cigar still has it in a slightly sweet flavor profile. The cigar seems to be holding just one note but that note is a good one. Lately I have been smoking some pretty strong (nicotine levels) cigars and the result has been not feeling great after smoking. Thank goodness, this wasn't one of those.

Smoked it down to an inch. I truly enjoyed the cigar. If it were a darker brown, I would have guessed an LP #9 but since it wasn't that dark and the taste just reminds me of the LP line....I am going with the premium cigar and that it is a LP T-52.

Opel, great start.

Plebian Palate Reviews – Vol II: The Musical
Mystery Cigar #1 (to the tune of Sound of Silence)

Hello blind smoke my old friend
I’ve come to spark you up again
You have a length of 6 inches I see
The gauge I guess to be about 50
The wrapper shows a dark and mottled brown,
with veins pronounced
To touch it feels, somewhat toothy

The ash is dense and lightly gray
It lasts a half then falls away
Sunlight hits ash, some sparkles show
What this is I simply do not know
The burn was fine, and then went off just a little bit
I rested it
And then it self-corrected

The flavor good but not much changed
Sweet up from with a bit of tang
Sip of water then brings out some oak
Tasty combo with the tangy sweet smoke
But then, just as my interest in it rears
It disappears
And taste returns to normal

Folks, said I, you may not know
My points on this are not that low
It’s not complex, but that’s not its fault
A pleasant smoke that I will not insult
Now to say with which blender this will go,
I just don’t know
So I will guess it’s a Bueso

Tentative Billboard Ranking: Yard Gar
I would listen to again, but don’t know that I would buy the album

Many thanks, brother. Enjoying yours as well. I do admit your story crafting inspired me to break from my usual format of long-winded attempts at humor. Didn't want to compete 🍺

Blind review cigar #1
Smoked outdoors at my grandmas tending a leaf fire paired with a Birds Fly South Sometimes Goats Dopplebock.

6x52 toro double cap, toothsome and mottled brown black like a shelled walnut. Glue marks where the band was and a glue mark where a seam was repaired. Looks like the wrapper was too wet when applied from the repairs and some recess from the foot after being cut.

Preflight: cut smooth it was bunched nicely, draw is good tastes like sweet raisin hay.

1/3rd : tasted like wonderful Connecticut Broadleaf. Nothing in the blend is making it past the wrapper yet. Slight taste of something I can’t place and it’s making think of a Fuente Anejo. That might explain the wrapper roughness and the glue. Just a touch of red pepper in the retro and a good dose of oak and cedar.

2/3rd : cedar is gone, oak and some maduro sweetness.....were settling into a monotone groove now. Medium plus. I may be wrong on my guess but boy it sure tastes Dominican to me. Getting some raisin back.

3/3rd : purged just to freshen it up, burn has been pretty consistent with a few waves but nothing of note. Put it down with an inch left.

Paired nice with the beer for sure, and I’m fairly confident with my guess and surprised I feel like I’m so sure.

My guess?
Fuente Anejo 60 (even at retail I don’t think it’s under $10) Premium.

Thanks Marcus

Very nice! To be fair, I think the first sentence of your post was far more psychedelic than anything I've ever written...

I'm just jealous he can have leaf fires. They send the truck after me here

It’s a burn day and we have a pit set up there for burning stuff, 5 acres of oak trees and Ponderosas gives plenty of leaf blowing and raking to do. Grandpa is gone and Grandma likes puzzles, reading, watching football and cussing like a sailor at phone scammers.

Poor roofing guy called two years ago cold calling to drum up business, she told him to go fornicate himself. He asked her on a date and she said ok, but you’re still gonna have to fornicate yourself after you buy me dinner.

Lance's box arrived early last week, but life has been keeping me busy.
Here is the list of contents, first the smokes...
3 beautiful looking toros with custom Patriots logo bands, all marked on left side of the Flying Elvis "CigarBid Blind Tasting"...and to the right side of Pat's logo "Spring 2021"....awesome bands, one Red, one Pewter/White, and one Dark Blue.
Hitchhikers included...

La Aurora Belicoso had before and smoked this right away

Cuban Aristocrat nh

Oliva Ct. Reserve had and really enjoy these

La Palina Paley's Vault in glass tubo nh

Ave Maria Immaculata perfecto(maybe?)nh, but have a couple in waiting

Black Market Filthy Hooligan had...actually my local just got these in a week or so ago, and I've had 3 or 4 recently(love these)

Perdomo Slow Aged 826 had several (one of my first purchase on cbid)

Now the swag...

A big bag of homemade? jerky...really delicious, and about gone...nom nom nom

A nice little Packet of the Patriot's logo bands, in the above mentioned colors, marked "Rick Amann Personal Collection"(really cool and distinctive, and much appreciated)🍺

A "Humidor Notes" pocket notebook, with spaces for recording notes on cigars smoked...pretty cool,I've never seen one like this...blank spots for brand, country, date purchased, price, food and drink accompaniment,weather....and several more also includes glue dots for affixing band into notebook.

and last but not least, a sealed envelope marked "open after smoking blinds"

That covers it, and Thank you very much Lance...
I have already smoked The La Aurora and enjoyed it...

I have also dipped into the Blinds, and started with the Red banded Beauty...I have no idea what it was ,other than FANTASTIC!!!...I will smoke the others in the near future...I'll fire up the White/Pewter band Monday night, after work.
I'm fairly confident the red band will be hard to beat, but I'm gonna keep an open mind until I burn through them all, and then I'll post my reviews and guesses once all the evidence has been smoked.

Also enjoying reading all the reviews from everyone...great job guys...flashed back to an old Windowpane I had reading your reviews opel... very interesting=d>

No rush on the cigars really..

I wanted to know how you liked the coffee..
I never tried it, I was just looking for something with a Detroit label and found that at a farmers market along with the corn.
