Wow, what a sweet shooter. Fantastic trigger with a short reset and accurate as all get out. Paired it up with a Desantis pocket holster. Disappears in my front jean pocket. I never realized that pocket carry could be so comfortable. I can draw the gun with one hand in less then a second. Much faster then IWB. I may not go back to the H&K this winter.

For deep carry with thin fabric shorts, I'm looking at the new Ruger LCP Max. An improved LCP2. 10+1 .380 ACP in a package 1" shorter and 10 ounces lighter then my Max 9. The problem is, around here they sell the day the dealers get them in stock.

Nope, never shot the Hellcat, but everything I've read and viewed has been positive. I probably would have bought one if I didn't see the Ruger. The Sig P365 fits my wife's hand perfectly, but it feels awkward in mine. I liked the feel of the Hellcat far more, but as soon as I picked up the Max 9, I knew it was the right choice.

Shield is a fine weapon, this is a great time to be into the market for a micro compact. There have NEVER been this many great options.

Thanks!

Thanks zrx, I have carried a G17 and a G23. They were both "fine" but I found the grip to be designed for someone else's hand, not mine. I switched to 1911s and never looked back for a long time, but I need something small and really concealable now. My always tucked-in shirt and tactical muffin-top belly are not helping.

Cool Jamie. On the rare occasions when I open carry, it's a G31 (.357 Sig) with Gold Dots. No open carry in National or State Parks here, so when the wife and I go hiking, I carry the G31 concealed in a chest pack with a rip release. Lots of bear and the occasional mountain lion around here, not to mention packs of feral dogs and coyote. Figure 31 rounds of "almost .357 mag" should do the trick. With that said, I'm looking to upgrade to a G20. I love me some 10mm.

Yeah you’re not supposed to carry on national parks here either…..

Stogie if you have Glocks already (or still) you should look at Polymer80’s for a lower. They run Gen 3 parts and the grip is a 1911 angle not Glock…..so say you have a Gen 3 G17 you could get a V2 (full sized) P80 lower and install a mag release and front/rear locking block/rails and move your trigger and rear trigger housing over to it the put the slide on. Boom done.

Roni kits are available for Polymer80’s now too (you have to use a P80 slide though which sucks.

No, an inexpensive M-Tac chest pack from Amazon. I purchased the light gray one without the exterior velcro, so that it doesn't scream "gun". NC, Virginia and TN all permit concealed carry in National/State parks with my CHP, so I'm totally legal.

Also, you should look at a Chiappa little badger for a bug out gun. Closed action single shot that’s a great suppressor host when you need dirty deeds done quietly cheap.

Love the HI POINT 9MM CARBINE 995TS Newer 2009 model vs. the original 1994 "995" planet of the apes gun....

The 995TS never jams...I know...

Hi Point pistols work all the time too...even dropped in water, sand ,dirt, mud.. like and real RUSSIAN made AK-47...I KNOW BOTH VERY WELL...

I know all about the little badger ( since 2013)... 😏😏🤭🤭🤭🤐🤐🤐🤐And I look good with crutches...you get dismissed as harmless and nobody checks you....

Ever watch the original Fredrick Forsyth 1973 FRENCH movie .... "DAY OF THE JACKEL" ???

Same here. Been carrying it everywhere I hike, fish or travel since 2008. The bluing is wearing off from thousands of hours of pocket time, but it's reliable and ultra light weight. On my weak side I carry a Zero Tolerance 0350 assisted opening knife.
