Attorney General Merrick Garland’s Message To Concerned Parents Is Clear: Shut Up Or Else

The collusion between Biden’s White House, woke school boards, and the DOJ serves one purpose: to intimidate parents into silence.

What do you call it when the country’s largest school board association secretly coordinates with the Biden White House before issuing a formal request that the administration use the FBI to investigate dissenting parents as potential “domestic terrorists,” and then, five days later, the Justice Department issues a memorandum to the FBI to do just that?

The old-fashioned word for it is corruption — corruption of our institutions, the rule of law, the administration of justice, the separation of powers. It is also an egregious abuse of power on the part of the Biden administration, which apparently has no qualms about calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland when the president’s political allies need a little muscle.

In a contentious congressional hearing on Thursday, Garland confirmed that the basis of his Oct. 4 memorandum, which directed the FBI and U.S. attorney’s offices to launch a task force to combat what Garland called a “disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff,” was a letter that the National School Boards Association (NSBA) sent to the White House on Sept. 29.

That is, Garland’s evidence that there’s a “disturbing spike” in these kinds of threats is the NSBA letter itself, which was produced after weeks of collaboration with Biden’s White House. This is the same letter in which the NSBA urged the Biden administration to use tools like the Patriot Act to target parents who show up at school board meetings to complain about mask mandates and critical race theory curricula, as if they were “domestic terrorists.”

Incredibly, the news about NSBA’s collusion with the White House broke while Garland was testifying Thursday. During his testimony, Garland insisted that, the NSBA letter notwithstanding, he “can’t imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children,” nor any circumstance in which those instances “would be labeled as domestic terrorism.”

We are left to understand then, that the role Garland envisions for the DOJ in all of this is — what? His memo cites no instances of violence or threats of violence against school board members, and Garland himself admitted before Congress that the basis of his memo was the NSBA letter.

But the vast majority of incidents cited in the NSBA letter didn’t involve attacks or threats of any kind. A few cases involved local law enforcement, but nothing cited in the letter comes close to “domestic terrorism” or anything that would justify the involvement of the FBI or the DOJ. For the most part, the letter cited cases in which parents and disrupted school board meetings by protesting, often because they were not given an opportunity to speak out on issues that directly affect the education of their children.

(The letter of course didn’t cite instances where school board members have threatened parents, which has also happened.)

To be clear, the DOJ has no role whatsoever in policing the interactions of parents and local school boards. Whatever happens at those meetings, however contentious they might get, they are entirely under the purview of local and state authorities. For Garland to even suggest that federal prosecutors might get involved is itself a scandal and an egregious abuse of power.

That’s what this is really all about. Set aside the details about the machinations between the Biden White House and the NSBA and the DOJ. What this comes down to is a coordinated effort by the left — including the most powerful law enforcement official in the country, the attorney general — to intimidate parents into silence.

Want to show up and speak out at your local school board meeting, or hold a protest sign in the parking lot? Well then, you might get a knock on your door from the FBI. Better think twice about that.

These are parents who have every right, by God and the U.S. Constitution, strenuously to voice their opposition to mask mandates, critical race theory, transgender ideology, and all the other nonsense that woke school boards and teachers are trying to foist on their kids.

Instead of listening to the concerns of such parents, the top brass at the NSBA decided to call in a political favor to the White House, which in turn let loose the Justice Department. Through it all, the corporate media executed a PR campaign on behalf of Biden and the school boards.

And why are they trying to intimidate parents into silence? Because when all’s said and done, the leftist ideologues who sit on school boards, work in the White House, and push paper for Garland’s Justice Department don’t want parents to have a say in how public schools are run and what children are taught.

The message is clear: comply, stay quiet, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll leave you alone. For now.

This is the same guy that was selected to be on the SCOTUS! Whew, we dodged a major bullet with that!

So, Lefties...still think this "Lower Your Expectations" regime is working for America?

I'd gladly take some humorous "mean" tweets of Free Speech than having government agencies circling around overhead. The problem is really, if this is what they got caught with...what other alphabet organizations were going after citizens of the US. REMEMBER...our borders are WIDE open right now.

Florida politicians suddenly like protesters who threaten, intimidate school board members

ORLANDO SENTINEL EDITORIAL

Brevard County School Board member Jennifer Jenkins made national headlines recently, describing a campaign of harassment and threats of violence over her position that students should wear masks during the pandemic.

She’s not alone. School boards across Florida and the nation are facing loud, unruly crowds at meetings, threats on social media and protesters who gather in front of board members’ homes.

Protests are a fundamental American right, whether they’re directed at police for brutality against Black people or at school board members over their decisions on masks.

Parents absolutely have a right to voice their displeasure over mask mandates.

They don’t have the right to use weedkiller to etch obscenities into a school board member’s lawn, or make phony child abuse claims about a board member’s kid. And they don’t have the right to threaten someone’s well-being because they don’t like how an elected official voted.

That’s what Jenkins said happened to her.

“I don’t reject people coming here and speaking their voice, they do it all the time,” Jenkins said at the Oct. 12 School Board meeting. “We don’t stop them from doing that. I don’t reject them standing outside my home. I reject them following me around in a car, following my car around. I reject them saying that they’re ‘coming for me,’ that I need to ‘beg for mercy.’ ”

If state leaders were acting in good faith, the would defend the right to protest and denounce threats and intimidation directed at elected officials.

That’s not what’s happening.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, who had zero tolerance for protesters in 2020 when the cause was racism and police brutality, is giving a full-throated defense to protesters targeting school boards in 2021.

DeSantis is not only ignoring the threats being made against board members he’s declared he’s not going to lift a finger to help the Department of Justice, which is drawing attention to the threats of violence against school boards stemming from controversies over masks and critical race theory. The governor, unsurprisingly, is falsely claiming the feds are targeting everyday parents merely expressing their opinions. No, governor, it’s targeting people who make illegal threats.

Siding with the governor are legislators like state Rep. Randy Fine, who published Jenkins’ personal cellphone number on his Facebook page in late July, and followed that up with a Facebook live post where he urged his 37,000 followers to call Jenkins, saying, “I encourage you to melt those lines down.”

Ironically, Fine’s call to action against the School Board member has him facing a criminal complaint, brought by Jenkins, alleging “cyberintimidation,” which is illegal under the so-called “anti-riot” law that Fine and other Republicans introduced earlier this year.

That law made it a first-degree misdemeanor to publish someone’s personal information, like a phone number, with the intent that someone else will “threaten or harass the person, placing such person in reasonable fear of bodily harm.”
When Fine isn’t painting a target on Jenkins’ back, he’s questioning her honesty. He recently demanded on Facebook to see the police reports of vandalism at Jenkins’ home and wrote that he suspects “it’s all fabricated.”

Good thing we have newspapers and not just lazy, self-serving politicians firing off Facebook posts. Florida Today on Thursday published an article detailing the police reports of vandalism, a fake child abuse allegation and neighbors of Jenkins’ who said they’ve seen protesters brandishing firearms.

It’s one thing for protesters to go beyond the bounds of the law, but it’s another thing when state and national elected officials are egging them on, which is what we’re seeing.

Leaders of the state House and Senate would never stand for the kind of disorder they seem to now think is perfectly fine at School Board meetings, where people refuse to follow rules requiring they speak in turn and wear face masks.

Both the state chambers outline specific rules of decorum that empower the House speaker and the Senate president to clear the chambers if they feel the need. When the Brevard School Board did that recently after a meeting got out of control, Fine filed a criminal charge alleging a Sunshine Law violation.

Never mind that the state Legislature conducted most of this year’s lawmaking session outside of the public’s presence, ostensibly because of COVID restrictions.

The hypocrisy of these politicians is enough to induce a bout of vertigo.

Imagine these politicians who are so vigorously defending school board protests in this year doing the same last year when Floridians took to the streets to protest the police brutality that cost George Floyd his life. Instead, their response to the Floyd protests was to pass a law so sweeping that even people who don’t riot could face arrest for rioting.

But today’s mask protesters are singing a tune more to the politicians’ liking, so now protests — even when they turn ugly — are suddenly a good thing.

Which is it?

I see Jennifer Jenkins, a self-described "progressive in a red county" with both herself and her husband employed by the public school district has become a useful propaganda tool as a guest of the DNC apparatchiks in the Lying Scum Media.
She's full of alleged claims of threats of violence by those unhinged "anti-maskers" naturally.

It Sure Seems Like the DOJ Is Covering Up FBI Instigation of January 6th

One of the more hotly debated issues surrounding the events of January 6th centers on just how deep the FBI’s involvement was. We’ve already had an admission that there were informants present. But past that, there are a series of unanswered questions that the DOJ steadfastly refuses to answer.

For example, multiple surveillance videos show masked men opening up the doors to the U.S. Capitol Building to allow protesters to enter. In fact, one video shows them entering while Capitol Police officers simply stand around. Yet, we have no idea who those men are. This is the same FBI that can track down 400+ people who entered the Capitol, including grandmas who took selfies and guys who put their feet on Nancy Pelosi’s desk, but we are to believe they have no idea who the men who opened the doors in the first place are.

Meanwhile, prosecutors refuse to release the rest of the tapes that haven’t been forced out by a judge, because they claim it poses a national security risk. The entire thing just doesn’t pass muster. What are they protecting?

That question became even more paramount this week after RedState reported on a video that Rep. Thomas Massie played for AG Merrick Garland during a House hearing. In it, we saw a man instigating people to enter the Capitol Building the night before January 6th. Later, we see the same man directing people into the Capitol Building, as chaos began to break out.

Here’s what that looked like.

The man in the video has not been arrested nor charged with a crime. Again, the FBI is holding grandmas in indefinite detention, but a man on tape telling people to enter the Capitol Building hasn’t even been touched by federal authorities? Does that sound plausible to you, if that man is just a random citizen? Or does it sound like the guy was an FBI agent or informant?

Any fair-minded person is going to lean towards the latter. Things have gotten to the point where the DOJ should not be trusted to have acted properly. That’s especially true when Garland continues to obfuscate and pretend as if he can’t comment on anything that might complicate the predominant, January 6th narrative.

Besides, given how the FBI behaved during the Trump-Russia investigation, does anyone really believe it to be beneath them to act politically? January 6th included some legitimately bad acts by a select few, but that’s a far hike from it being a “planned insurrection” involving everyone who casually strolled through the open doors of the Capitol Building that day. The government appears to be heavily invested in covering up exactly what happened, regardless of whether that leads to unfair prosecutions or not.

If Garland has nothing to hide, then he should come out and directly address why those who opened the doors and are on tape instigating the crowd haven’t been arrested or charged. If there’s a good explanation, then share it. In the absence of that, it sure seems like the DOJ is covering up FBI instigation of January 6th.
