Auto manufacturers are under no obligation to make parts for their vehicles. The number of years varies with manufacturer and models. As a thumb rule, Mazda stops making parts for some of their vehicles after 5 years. Ford 3.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) isn't even made by the manufacturer. The blueprint designs for the parts are sold to third party companies to make parts. Any guesses which country makes most of these replacement parts?

China, Japan, Germany, South Korea and Mexico.

Yup. “Made in America” just means the final product was put together / assembled on American soil.

A dirty little lie: "Assembled in the USA from internationally sourced prats/ingredients."

How Bachman Turner Overdrive’s inside joke became a hit song. The hit song, including stuttering lyrics, was an inside joke intended for one person, Bachman's brother.

"You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet"

By the time Bachman Turner Overdrive were ready to record their third album, Not Fragile, Randy Bachman had sent demo tapes to almost two dozen record labels, all met with rejection letters. Finally, a twist of fate led to inking a contract with Mercury Records…but they were told they were one song short of “that magic element” the label thought they needed for the album. In this episode of the Behind The Song podcast, find out how “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” was begrudgingly added to the tracklisting and became a number one smash for B.T.O. even though Randy Bachman had intended for the song to be nothing more than a brotherly inside joke!

The details are in this video.

The song:

Gene,

That's too funny. I was 0 years old when I learned that just now.

I inherited my brother's vinyl collection when he moved off to college. He had all the BTO stuff among tons of other classic rock albums. Cassette tapes were easier to move and you could play them in the car and stuff.

John Belushi had a hard time forging his heroes for their human failings.

Example: John Belushi told a coworker when referring to Lenny Bruce...... "He died a fat junkie and people are treating him like a saint."

Huh.

Paul McCartney and George Harrison had a feud over the ending of "Hey Jude"...

Harrison wanted to include in the end of the song a guitar riff he was working on at the time... McCarthy was the brains of the song and vetoed Harrison's request...they didn't speak for years after that...

Harrison released "Isn't It A Pity" afterward and his guitar riff was featured at the end of the song...this song had many similarities and parallels to "Hey Jude", including the "na na na na " ending coda featuring Ringo Starr that lasted more than 4 minutes in each...both songs were the exact same length, at 7 minutes and 11 seconds long.

There are probably a bunch of foreigners in Bulgarian prisons for Date Rape.

Ooh, that’s quite interesting. Never heard that before but now I gotta check it out.

Couple years ago when we had Disney+, I tried to watch Peter Jackson’s “Get Back” but it was a small task to sit through it. However, knowing the discord within the group, I was looking for signs of unhappiness and frustration from George and Ringo so when Harrison told Paul “Tell me what you want me to play and I’ll play it” (…or words to that effect…), it wasn’t surprising when George temporarily quit.

When smelling a glass of wine, you should never put your nose at the bottom like most do on instinct because you will only smell alcohol. Start at the top and move your nose down and you will smell more, and the smell will change as you move your nose.

M*A*S*H

Comedy drama TV series from 1972 to 1983.

M*A*S*H broke new ground for future shows and became one of the first sitcoms to challenge the laugh track. Considering the setting, show runners Larry Gelbart and Gene Reynolds didn't want a laugh track at all, considering it inappropriate. Since comedies of the era almost always came with one, they were overruled by CBS.

That said, CBS agreed to drop the track over all operation room scenes. The laugh track used in M*A*S*H was also more subdued and became quieter in later seasons. More dramatic episodes like season 4 finale "The Interview" dropped it entirely, and by the final season, nearly every episode was laugh track free.

On the laugh tracks, Hogan's Heroes has a handful of episodes without them. Have seen the series from start to finish. The non LT episodes feel flat.

In 2020, the percentage of farmed seafood surpassed wild seafood in global seafood production. Farmed seafood will grow to 54% of global seafood production by 2030.

Am I the only one who prefers the taste of natural wild salmon over the farmed stuff?
