Good Friday Morning to All! It's an overcast 68° on the way to 78° today. It looks like a Costco run after the morning gold traffic and before the noon traffic. Just a few returning shuttle vans, liquor trucks, and carloads of cleaners to contend with.

Mid to low 50's with blustery winds in northern central MA, cooling down to the 40's in the evening. Landscaping crews were out en masse yesterday cleaning up tree limbs and cutting down some of the smaller damaged trees leftover from the heavy snow/ice storm we had last month.

They took down a few dogwood trees in the common areas at the appt complex since they were pretty well damaged beyond repair. Bad: lost a few shade trees. Good: few less trees to toss out pollen when they bloom which might ease up on the spring sinus allergies.

Fire weather warning. Don't usually have these things out here. Prolly due to high winds and people might want to burn the sticks and their down limbs/trees from above mentioned storm.

Morning dudes. Gonna be 47/81 today and sunny.

After my morning 5 miler I had to take my life in my hands and change the battery in the highest smoke detector in the house. That bastid is 15 feet up and the wife was complaining that it beeped about every minute. Couldn't hear it myself so it didn't bother me but she insisted. Think she is trying to kill me off.

Damn...

My neighbor and buddy of 15 years just suddenly died. He was a really great guy, awesome neighbor and my kids love him and his wife. He and his wife always do little stuff for the girls, buy them birthday presents, etc. They didn't have any kids, and while I know he thought it was a pain in the rear to decorate his house for Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc., he knew how much joy it brought my daughters and he did it partly for them.

I gotta figure out how to tell a 6 and 3 year old that he is gone.

But I believe you will find your own way to explain this.

Thanks guys. We had our Seder (a couple of days late) tonight and brought a few plates of food over to his wife and her mom who is staying with her. The irony is that I brought her brisket (oven style) and her husband used to smoke brisket in the back yard, but would tell us in advance so we could open up the rear sliding door to let the amazing smells waft in... We told him it was a smoked brisket air freshener.

DED, he was late fifties, some significant health issues and he never really took care of his body. Makes me realize I need to get my lard-but moving more.
