Mom is much improved, but is not allowed to bear more than 20lbs on her affected side yet . Ortho PA said two months no weightbearing in a skilled care facility. We see the ortho again for her on Tuesday and get an official update.

My shoulder surgery was 2 days ago. I am progressing real well.

Good luck with mom.

What exactly did you have done to your shoulder?

PS: Bucky...sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear, Bucky.

I got my second Shingrix shot yesterday and I feel like absolute crap today. Spent most of last night shivering under the covers. I am pretty sure Shingles is worse, so it's worth it, but wow, I was not expecting this.

RIP Amanda, so sorry for your loss Bucky.

Went to audiologist and ENT doctor today, follow-up to an appt. earlier this year. After several weeks of prescribed regimen; nasal spray, oral decongestant and pushing air out the ears while holding my nostrils did not help the frozen ear drum in my right ear....significant hearing loss means I'll need a hearing aid, eventually...

pretty sure playing rock records at full volume in my youth had something to do with this...

Keep plowing forward, Brothers.

My dumbass decided it would be fun to shoot gophers with a .45 with zero ear protection for an afternoon. The ringing hasn’t stopped since.

Shoulder surgery went well and my range of motion is improving nicely, continued moderate pain pains. All good.

Mom, not so good. She developed a MRSA infection at her incision cite. Pic line with IV antibiotics for a month (two more weeks). Hoping to get her into assisted living. Going on tours this week. I am not certain that will happen. She is in decline.

Good news on the shoulder, Robert. I retract my challenge for an arm wrestle.

Not so good news on your Mom. Getting old sucks. My Dad is also in decline and is just waiting for the day. Mentally he's all there. Physically things are aging - trouble walking without help. Emotionally, maybe slipping. Stuff he loved to do he can't do anymore so that must be troublesome. He refuses to even entertain the topic about assisted living. To him that would be just one step away of cashing out.

I hope for the best for you, your Mom and your family.

getting old really sux...we all will get there but each one of us will confront that demon at different stages of our lives...

at 71, as I roll downhill, I can see it approaching, but I still have the energy to push back...

When I was young and rolled downhill, that would get me dizzy. But I'd get up and walk a bit wobbly back up the hill and do it again.

That might explain some of the characteristics of who I am now and what... umm... ummm... I forgot what I was saying.

OH! look a squirrel!
