How well sealed is it?

I always thought those were more for display than actual use. I gave up trying to keep a 100 count wood humidor stable, can't imagine trying to keep RH stable in that. Then again, I live in the desert...

Someone I know bought one like this. Don't know if it's the exact one but I'd imagine there's only one or two Chinese factories cranking these out.

It was essentially just a cheap cabinet with a glass door and cedar veneer on MDF shelving. No provisions to seal the door, the back panel was 1/8" pressboard like an Ikea cabinet. It's no more a humidor than the cheap chinese desktops are. Can you make it work? Sure. Can you neglect it for a month and it stays stable? Probly not.

My basement it would work fine, but my storage solutions work fine no reason to spend the money on a display. I could probably get away with just storing my cigar boxes on a shelf in the basement it's pretty consistent temp and humidity except for when I'm running the AC and dehumidifiers in the summer.

Think Sledn had the Tower of Power. Or some other upright cabinet humidor. Thought I remeber him saying maintaining the humidity, unless it was close to fully.*

*The above recollection is from 15 years ago.

You can seal that door pretty easy.

Humidity?

Oasis is ok but if it has foam in the water chamber REMOVE IT.

I’d use 2 way active beads and one way basic floral beads, but I’m a heathen.

On first glance, I thought this was a thread about the group from Oakland.

I had one very similar if not the same.

The door actually sealed pretty well. Don’t remember exactly how many pounds of Heartfelt beads I used to get it dialed in, but once I did it held rh +/- 1% pretty easily.

I used nylon stockings to hold the beads. Put a stocking with beads on every shelf. Also put a digital hygrometer on each shelf. Has a few small battery powered fans scattered about to keep the air circulating and the rh consistent from place to place.

BTW, bought mine used around 2014 for like $225.

Did you already buy it?
If so, congrats.
If not, you’d be way better off buying a used, clean, mini-fridge off craigslist or your local facebook community.
It doesn’t even have to be working.

FWIW I, think I used somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 pounds of beads in mine.
