I've been talking to a few of the longshoremen over the last few days at work. They are expecting more then a week, many are planning for two. Easily one of the strongest unions in the nation, probably the world. Should be interesting if current administration orders them to kill the strike.

It's gonna get ugly. 1 day on strike is about 5 days of things being affected by it. The longer the strike the longer the affects last.

They better pray this doesn’t effect the election…..

Democrats ABORE diversity of thought, and if your actions don’t circle the wagons at a n important time the lizard people will green light you.

Then ol’ Z gets paid to put dermal absorption pads ion mailboxes, toilet handles, car keys or doorknobs as needed.

Ironic that the party of diversity with their COEXIST and equality bumper stickers certainly don’t actually like diversity of thought.

When the railroad workers went on strike my brother said we will see other big , strong unions start the negotiation process. He was correct. Many Longshoremen and port workers make $150K+ annually. This will be interesting to watch. The port workers are probably going to take a beating in the media. The $150K is an easy target for frustrated Americans to aim at. I’m not taking sides against the workers…at all. I’m just making an observation.

Few make 150+. But there are some that double that easily.
Vast majority are nowhere close unless overtime kicks in. O/T adds up quickly for them though.

For sure the $150K is talking about OT hours. It also depends on where they work. Here is better, clearer info:

How much do dockworkers make?

While the current top wage is around $81,000 annually, a report by the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor indicated that about a third of local longshoremen earned $200,000 or more last year. However, the high earnings often come with grueling hours. ILA president Harold Daggett told the Associated Press that many workers logging such high pay work up to 100 hours a week.

Sounds about right. The port is littered with campers that many guys share between them. Some go on crazy working binges for a month then dissappear for the next. But that's usually the most senior of the ILA. The guys operating cranes can easily pull 400k without batting an eye.

And of course that's only at the large ports. NYC area and Miami
