Had to go to a specific O’Reily’s for a part for my daughter’s car Monday.

A Rite Aid in the same shopping center is closed.

How in TF does a drug store not stay open 2 blocks from a hospital? Amazing

We have 1 small 7-11 but with almost every gas station having an attached store at this point is a few 711 closing a real loss? Wawa, Rutters, Royal Farm all do the same thing and at least in my area all do it better and Sheetz has plans for 1000 new stores in multiple states, including its first Michigan locations, expected in 2025 in the Detroit area.so -400 7-1 and + 1000 Sheetz... seems like a net gain.

Some times business close, some times they expand

I never heard of Sheetz. I did hear that because of inflation more and more people can't afford overpriced convenience store sheet.

Well... one of the morons running is going to give you more of the exact same sheet you been getting for the last 4 years.

The other one is teaming up with RFK Jr, Elon Musk, and Tulsi Gabbard to fix our broken f'n government. Choose wisely.

Make America Healthy Again... cancel the alphabet gov't agencies.

Looks like the US Economy shows strong economic growth, a softening labor market and slowing inflation....

Drug stores like Rite Aid, Walgreens and CVS are the top targets for the thugs that just go in and shop for free. Those that are still open have anything useful behind locked plexiglass.

Walgreens bough a bunch of stores from Rite Aid a few years ago. I'm guessing they bought too many and have been closing a few yearly. Looks like they are just going big on closing this time.

The little city I live in had 2 Walgreens in town. One closed down and a Rite Aid moved in. Population of only around 20k peoples but we have 5 pharmacies: CVS, Rite Aid (half a block between them), Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and a Mom & Pop pharmacy (they have a couple in surrounding towns). That's a lot of pharmacies in a small city. We do have a large elderly population (about 20% 65 yrs and older, is that considered large? shrug) so that probably helps.

I don't have any major prescript requirements so I use the Mom & Pop pharmacy. Their prices cheaper then the chain ones but a couple bucks more expensive than the Wal-Mart pharmacy. No biggie, I try to spend money on the Mom & Pops when I can. They also do delivery - or at least they did when the COVID thing was going on. Didn't need to use the delivery so I don't know if they still offer it but that is/was a nice benifit.

We had 2 banks in town. They both were merged into larger banks and now we have one. I plan on moving my money to another bank. Times have changed and so is the way we are banking. I wouldn't be surprised if CVS did some closings as their non-pharmacy pricing is way too high. The economy will be changing and I don't think it will be for the better.

Yeah. I was laid off from a previous job after they streamlined a couple manufacturing sites under one roof. Then COVID hit and job openings in my area dropped off. I grabbed a part time job job at the circus - I like to stay busy rather than sit around and do nothing. While working there I also went back to school for another degree while waiting out the government mandates trying to flatten the curve and allow businesses to open back up again.
