Yes, that Right – the Commander and Chief “Loves Teslas”, thinks they are “beautiful” and “cool”. So much so that he now advertises for them on the White house front lawn.

Now if you say that a sitting US President should not be selling cars – than you must be a god damn Democrat.

After all these years that you MAGA folks have thrown EVs and Tesla under the bus, now it time to Show Your Support and Make America Great Again by buying The Most American Car There Is.

And God Bless America!

Why?

I was against our government mandating the Green New Deal. My feelings on the matter is that ecologically it does more harm to the earth in the procurement of the minerals to make them. Enticing people with taxpayer subsidies is wrong. If the product was viable the Big 3 and including Tesla would be selling like hotcakes. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I firmly believe Elon jettisons his car making company. Its a losing battle when China is involved. They control the minerals, they have the labor cornered, and they've built their tech off the backs of ours cheaper. Plus, Lefty seems really really really pissed at him. Staking and vandalizing his service centers. Its to the point where he's actually afraid for his life.

Most of the people buying electric cars can afford it and don't need it. It's a big upgrade to get your own charger. Cost wise if you are upgrading the house for it and buying an electric car. You can afford it and you don't need the subsides. Especially if you are buying premium electric vehicles like a lucid.

poker buddy of mine bought 2 Mach E, installed the charger himself. paid a few hundred for the parts. then paid an electrician an hour of service time to inspect the install before going live with it. pulled the permits himself and had an inspector come out. all in all it cost him just over 1k to do it vs the several thousand it costs for a full install. he didn't add a battery and it was a larger home with new construction so didn't need to do any upgrades to the main electrical system.

now for older homes and those that need electrical upgrades like mine it can get pricey... (i don't own or pan to own an ev, hybrid f150 and hybrid camery for us)

same guy is now installing full solar on the house and is calculated to produce more electric than he can use. will trickle back to the grid and get money back from the electric company. based on the solar calculator he used he will make everything back for the solar install within 3 years. he will be adding battery to the solar system to store power as well.

You stated that rich people were buying them. They don't need rebates to incentivize their spending habits. Remember this was done with taxpayer dollars.

Trump is auditioning for after president job. Late night infomercials.

I'm not a fan of everything he is doing but isn't it interesting what a president will try and accomplish when he's not worried about his next election or trying to keep his party in power when he's done?
