Deffinitely way different than my expectations from previous "previews" and or clips shown as previews...

Way more a double love story with awesome Chinese countryside locations and on location Mongolian desert landscape scenes & possible Tibetan landscape and temple scenes ...fights...
Three awesome fight scenes stand out..

The princess vs. The Chun fat Lo ...and she flies away...

The princess vs. The entire 3-4 level bar fight scene...flying only a few times...
..

The princess vs. The other older lady master ..
Flying everywhere

And

As a closure statement...

Chun fat Lo gives a lifetime best performance in
"The Replacement Killers" movie ...it is in my personnel "top 10 movies" list...Mira sorvino is the most beautiful woman I half' evah seen in this movie / time period..
Bar none!!!

Check out Chow Yun-fat in "The Corrupter"

One of the best car chase scenes of all time if you ask me...Don't forget to play "Body Count" with this film.

I remember when this movie came out and was pleasantly surprised that it was made true to the style of Chinese movies my Mom and I went to see in Chinatown when I was a kid...superior but similar styles...

When we were in h.s. and college, a small group of us got into Chinese martial arts films. They were generally shown at American, Empress and Liberty Theaters in Chinatown. I vaguely remember the names of some of the stars: Ti Lung, Alexander Fu Sheng and David Chien. I know Jackie Chan was in them but in the movies we saw, he never had a big role.

I was expecting a way more Chinese fighting movie and way more flying fighting because the previews show them in excess...
It was a double romance film with some fighting...

Other classics have this fighting in excess..
Not this movie..no way !

Until I checked our local library system, didn’t know there was a sequel. “Crouching Lion, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny”. Might borrow both.

I saw it... meh. Nothing special, IMO.

You want good reading? Terry Goodkind - The Sword of Truth. Wizard's first rule is book one.

Other good reading? Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan series. RA Salvatore Drizzt series. Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series (although he died before he finished it, and someone else did... and I didn't follow after book 9 but they were damn good up to 9). Conan series by Robert Howard.

Anything by Robin Hobb. Anything by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. Anything by Terry Brooks. Anything by Peter Brett. Anything by Patrick Rothfuss. Anything by Brent Weeks.

Terry Brooks **** yeah! The whole Shanara series is almost better than Tolkien's masterpiece of the Hobbit/LOTR.

They made a weak sauce version on Prime...would LOVE for Peter Jackson to get his hands on that!
