Trump is playing this near perfectly.

Instead of 3 days of unending burning of Minneapolis, or was it 85 days in Portland? He gave the local and state governments a day to deal with it.

They didn't, so Trump (odd me saying this) is being the adult in the room and bringing in protection for the overmatched police. Tactically, having a bunch of police exposed to rioters throwing objects off of the overpass above them is plain dumb.

Trump brings in the National Guard, more illegals come out and riot, more excuses to get rid of them. It becomes a target rich environment.

Masterfully played by the president.

The irony is that the protest are mostly (supposedly) spurred by the "by-catch" of ICE going into neighborhoods to arrest criminal aliens. The "by-catch" is the wife and kids of the criminal alien who are home at the time of the visit, and they all get swooped up and deported even though only one family member is actually a local criminal (other than coming here illegally). If the local authorities would simply honor the ICE detainer requests from the local jails, none of these ICE raids would be needed. The criminal aliens would be collected upon release from the local jails and deported.

"Sanctuary" status caused this.
