I've had it with this downgrade to the forum. One of three posts succeeds, others just sit there endlessly spinning the processing tag. The software also wants to downloads a zero byte files when I refresh the screen.

Yeah. I've already started to drift away. Still trying to post whatchu smoking. But I'll sit watching the spinner for a few minutes waiting for it to post and eventually give up. Sometimes I come back and it double posted but most times it just doesn't exist.

After a bit, I press Refresh and four out of 5 times, it loads just fine.

I have "Reported" your post to CBID and expounded on it.
Let's see if we even get any response.

Same, its just painful on the eys and terrible performance. just hard to really be on here with it this way.

I have found that when I post on a desktop (Windows), and it just does the spinny wheel thing, if I move on and go to the Cigar Discussion main thread or whatever, my post does go through. Basically, it's posting, but the page is not reloading.

Sometimes though, the page refuses to load anything at all when I try to exit a thread. Just blank. Then I have to exit to cigarbid and login again.

I am always logging in way to much. It boots me after a day or so, whereas the old forum would leave me logged in to the forum. If I wanted to bid, I would have to login again, but not to see the forum.

Here is one issue I see with using the refugee forum. Getting new blood. You have to have noobs coming in and participating, otherwise, the whole thing will go stagnant and eventually wither away.

I wonder if they beta tested this before going live. That's another radical thing people sometimes do.

Oh man I'm glad I'm not the only one who has drifted away because of the site format change. I felt like I was being a jerk not saying anything in the past few weeks, but every time I'd load up the page to look at threads, it's basically illegible. That and then I've had issues with posts going through.

I don't know fellas. Like lee says, not gonna see any newcomers on the lifeboat. It's not really a front page search item.
Try and stick it out. The lifeboat is always a last resort

Less guests to look at cigars being smoked might tend to slow overbidding. We lost quite a few posters prior to the wreckage of the forums. It is very annoying to still be getting error messages from time to time. I wonder if anyone will be going to the next cigarfest.

I agree with Lee too. We'll never get any new members if we move to the backup forum, but we may not have a choice. Yesterday I couldn't post, or even read, the Cbid forum. Who knows when Cbid will fix it, if ever... It's been 8 years since the "meltdown" of 2017 and they're still selling people pictures of cigars...
So, I just posted and over @ the backup site yesterday. If I can, I'll log my cigars here, if not I'll log them over there. It's whatever. 🙁
