I have quote a few mellow and mellow to medium cigars of good quality. When I try a new smoke, I can tell right away if it's a lousy smoke--harsh, cheap tobaccos poor construction, overall just lousy and cheap. I can tell a lousy cigar right away.

The problem I have is that all my better cigars that I enjoy seem to all taste about the same. If they didn't have bands, I would not be able to tell one from the other. They all are equally nice to smoke. Anyone else have this issue?

It depends on what you mean by “better” cigars.

Are you talking Oliva, AJ stuff, etc……..…or Ashton, Padron, My Father, Liga, Foundation like stuff?

Also, how many cigars a day do you smoke?

And, when was the last time you took a break…….like at least 7-10 days to rest your palate.

There is more, but you get my point. Many factors contribute to a reduced ability to distinguish flavors and nuances in cigars.

Nothing wrong with smoking “dailies” or mid range cigars, but I don’t expect them to impress me with complex transitions, and multiple detected flavors.

However, I Do expect decent construction on a mid level cigar.
