What do you do when a cigar in your humidor is getting bids higher than the price you paid for it? Do you smoke it or save it? If you smoke it, do you smoke it at the price you paid or the bid it's attracting now? If you save it, why?

As soon as you drive out of the lot the value decreases a substancial amount. Your used product will never attain the value of the newer models coming out. Sorry.

You cut it in half, then save the first half and smoke the second half. or save the second half and smoke the first half. or save both and smoke them later. hmmmmm what was the question again.... I smoked the first half already.

I buy at wholesale and smoke at retail or retail plus markup.

GetYourOwn...not serious? I'll rephrase the question. If you had two of the same cigar: one you paid $1 for and another you got for $2 (it happens all the time on CBid), and you smoke one, do you smoke the $1 or the $2? It's an inventory question.

Considering the re-phrased question, M, you might want consider smoking two at the same time (for example if they're robustos you could consider two to be the equivalent of a double-corona) in order to dollar-cost average them, so they would be 1.50 each in your example. If you smoke the more expensive one slower, you could actually end up with a rebate.

I dont care what they go for after I buy them. I dont plan on selling them so what does it matter? I usually buy 5-packs,smoke one & put the others in the humi for a little aging. Why worry about somthing that you cant change? Maybe if I bought a box of expensive premiums, I may look for curiousity later to see how I did. But for cheaper smokes,buy em, smoke em, & forget about em!!
