where i buy most of my dress clothes and my martha stewert "every day" kitchenware,

i noticed a plastic case that fits under the bed and is foolishly used for blanket storage. it is 18 x 42 x 6 inches high. it has a plastic cover and it sells for $10.00.

by anyone's calculation that is 190+ cu inches. the closest humidor to me has 24 cu inches and it cost about $50.00.

this kick's ass over my sweaterbox humidor which has 100 cu inches and cost the same amount and kicks triple or better ass over my $50.00 humidor.

two soap dish humidifiers should keep it humidified and the bottom can be lined with the tops and bottoms of ceder boxes.

think of the possibilities of stacking $40.00 worth of these and using the top part as a coffee table.

you could switch the appearance of the top of your table, hemmingways isom's opeses x's for your good company and bad frogs fighting ****, red heads and the Flor de Ilocos Robustos that cbid says

"An unattractive, junky-looking cigar. Even the packaging stinks" for you relatives that "want to try one."

Wow Rick, you always come up with some great stuff!

I have outgrown my 'borrowed' humi and think that this might be just the right ticket!

Thanks for the great idea...my only question is: when you say the tops and bottoms of ceder boxes, do you mean the actual tops and bottoms just cut apart with the hinges removed, or are you referring to a cedar lining insert? I'm a visual learner and I need further instructions with a pic if possible.

I was in Target last week and had that very box in my hands with similar thoughts. I didn't buy that one but I did purchase a nice Rubbermaid box on sale that should hold about 150+ stogies. I have the damn thing half full already. It's a SICKNESS I tell Ya'!!

I should add that the in the days immediately following Christmas the stores will stock all of the holliday plastics......meaning lots of different shapes and sizes not normally carried. Most will be on sale as well.

Now get out there, fill those shopping carts and provide my wife with job security.

It is a very nice place, and I have had very good experiences with them ... I'll have to admit.

But normally ... due to the 'General Guidelines' that have been set out by our host ... we do not discuss 'competing web sites' on their forums ...

C-bid sells humidors ya know.

... and even though you are talking about their 'brick and mortar' store, they do have a fairly large web presence ...

... just giving a gentle reminder!

Hehehehe...

I wouldn't think that would be a problem. Neither one has any products that the other does. If the powers that be disagree, then I offer my apologies.

RZ ... do be sure to take the time to "season" that El Grande properly before loading it with cigars ... it's a nice humi and will work well for you, but in the end, you're gonna need a sweaterboxadore or a tupperwareadore, a rubbermaidtubador or a marinecoolerador of some kind ... forget waiting so see if you make Santa's nice or naughty list next year and make a large storageador of SOME kind now ... you'll be needing it sooner or later anyway

the actual top and bottom. you could put the ceder divider in, but, new tip, i break it along its natural grain into about 1/4 inch strips and use it to light cigars.

i do have my el reye del mundo glass top that i bought here. i keep all my acids and my home made acids in it. i like to watch the fumes as they coat the glass top.

point of interest. i never needed any more humidors until i found this candy store. all my cigars are delivered to the office and then i bring them home.

i try, like my last shipment, even though it had frogs, and red heads and fighting whatevers, to get a box from cbid that does not allow me to close the trunkof the car.

when we get home i lay down on the bed, and toby opens the boxes and dumps all the cigars on me.

it's a jewish thing.

SteveS, isn't that a variation of the old "wrapper on, wrapper off" question.

Rick, I've thought of doing that but I was always afraid that I would start rolling around and well, you can imagine.

SteveS, I am afraid you are right. I figured my two small humis would have been fine, and then I found this site. Next this I know...I need another humi immeidately. Then I figured, I now have enough sticks to keep me busy for a long time, but I can't seem to stop bidding.

damn right I'm right ... it took me 5 humidors to learn it ... I'm saving you the trouble of buying those next 3 and letting you spend the money on cigars !!

Merry Christmas ... LOL
