Hi all,
New to the CBid board but understand from others it is a pretty good group. I look forward to a lively discourse on cigars and other worthwhile topics and hope I don't clutter up the scene too much.

The handle "turnberry" is in commemoration of a fabulous few days some years ago at Turnberry, Scotland enjoying my other passion..golf. Sitting on the terrace in front of the hotel at dusk listening to the piper while smoking a cigar, sipping a good single malt and watching the sun sink into the sea toward Ireland was a magical moment which to this day I have been unable to recreate.

Not long ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Turnberry and sharing a bit of conversation with him while sipping a cool one and smoking a cigar while he was in SF on business ... but don't hold that against him ... I predict he'll blend into this group quite nicely ...

Welcome, sir ... glad to have you in our little cigar smoking family ...

I love the Fuente SG, but then who doesn't. Other frequent picks are the Bolivar Fuerte, Mayorga maddies, and the new La Escepcion III.

Shot a 78 and an 81 at Turnberry on that trip. But the ambience was so great I really didn't care much!

Nice to be here.

well... it was called ... here they come .... shall we embrace in good faith or be nasty and hope they leave ... ?

I vote we give them a month ... let them gouge the prices on the auctions ... make them the epicenter of our humorous posts ... and see if they can survive ... meanwhile ... we'll pray some moron opens up another BB!!!

oh yeah - did ya' note how he "explains" his name on the board on his opening POST instead of answering to the other thread that he's OBVIOUSLY read?

FRIGGIN' LURKER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watch out for this one ...

DO NOT TRADE ANY SALAZAR DIPLIMATICO Cigars to him -

- he can't be trusted yet ...

Jimmy@ctetc ... I seem to recall that as a newbie, you got a more gracious welcome than you're now giving Turnberry ... I think perhaps you've had a bit too much eggnog ... get some sleep and things might look better in the morning

Yeah... you're right ... it's not my fault though ... I've been overly exposed to Slim, E-Chick, and the leftist Ricky ...

- but I still turned out normal didn't I ??????
SteveS

Maybe ...

I know that e-Chick and Slim have had some pretty intense battles from time to time, but their battels are between the two of them and are never attacks on a new person on the boards ... as for Rickamaven, he may have political views that are the South Pole to my North, but I will assure you that under his sometimes seemingly gruff exterior, there is not a kinder, warmer and more unselfishly generous person in our group than he is ... we're all exposed to the postings of these three people and none of the rest of us have turned on anyone that way ... go with the eggnog excuse ... it's a better one.

Steve, Ive been having a little NFL fueding lately. As a Raider fan can I use the eggnog excuse too? Hehehe!

Mag, you canTRY telling 'em that too much eggnog is the reason you're a Raider fan and that sober, you'd never dream of such a thing ... I'd be interested in seeing who'd buy that, but hey, why not give it a shot ... no pun intended ... it couldn't possibly hurt ... after all, whether it was eggnog or being dropped on your head as a baby, there must be SOME explanation for it ... LOL

PS: I think I was dropped on my head. I thank God every day !!! Hehehe!!!

I do work tomorrow. I own my own business, so I can come in a little late if I want to. I'm about to hit it though, but I'll try to be in on time. I have this "thing" about Christmas. It's once a year, so I go all the way to midnight & take it in. I know it's corny, but that's me. Merry christmas Steve. Take care.

To you as well, sir ... I plan to be in SJ tomorrow and had wondered if there were a good local store near you where we might arrange to bump into one another ...
