My Son, with who I enjoy a passion for fine cigars, returned home to college after visiting for Christmas, to discover that his house had been broken into and he had been robbed. Stolen were all his collection of backpacking gear, Laptop Computer, Cameras, his KSU Holiday Bowl Ring, his state Basketball Championship Ring, several high dollar electric guitars, and his entire collection of cigars we had built for him over the last couple of years in a 500 cigar glass-topped antique Mahogany/Cedar lined handmade Cuban humidor.

It was a fine collection of 400 cigars or so, many fine fine sticks! I was with him on our way to see his grandmother. No too merry a Christmas for my son!

I am having trouble finding my way through the anger on this one guys. Anyway, if anyone should see a posting on any of the cigars or auction sites where someone is seeking to sell this, please alert me.

Hey Mike. Anyway we could get an address for him and send him some sticks to start his collection over? I sure wouldn't mind sending him some to sorda restart. I would probably cry my eyes out if I lost my collection, and I don't even have that many! Let me know. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Very sorry to hear this. But lets get his cigar inventory back up to par.

That really Sucks!! It leaves you full of helpless anger. You'll be among the very lucky to ever get anyone caught or any of the stuff back. It's sad to say but most of us have probably been there done that.

Some smokes would be nice -- he lost the medium smokes
he likes, and also all the Cao, Perdomo, and other smokes I have given him trying to train his palate. He is starting to like them. Also about 12 Bucaneros Naturals and 4 Peg Legs I just bought and just sent him in the mail before he came home for Christmas!

Oh and about 15 Cuban Montecristos #4 he brought back from a study trip to the island to observe waterfowl. He is crying over those.

Probably the low life who stole them will trash them or worse smoke em with his low life friends. I am going to have to watch my attitude -- it does not befit a man of God.

The laptop computer was about 3 year old IBM thinkpad I bought him when he went to college, he had backups for most of his research and papers.

He is a Conservation and Forestry Major so taking field notes and pictures that he can use later is something he does every week.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt. When some jerk hit my house a few years ago he battered down a back door.

One suggestion is to keep an eye on Ebay. It's probable that lots of stolen stuff gets unloaded there. Hope you guys get some of your stuff back and roast the creeps that did it.

With all of that top quality stuff, it sounds to me like someone knew where to hit. Your son might want to keep his eyes peeled around him. Maybe someone he knows, orsomeone his "friends" know. I hope that all turns out well in the end.

Got insurance? Why not? Give a little more detail on the items and post on several BBs. Chances are by now the morons who ripped your son have prior knowledge of what they would find.Unfortunately,by now the cigars have likely been hollowed out and stuffed with marijuana,a terrible waste of both materials.

I'd bet a friend of a friend of your sons' visited his home a week or less before the theft.

As for the belongings...I don't see anyone suggesting the Police, or local pawn shops. Not too sure I'd mention the ISOM's to the local authorities, but hopefully they can help with the rest.

..the loss as a whole is aweful, as is the gars. But, as a former college ball player, the loss of the ring would kill me....I hope the manufacturer can remake him one. I had a "friend" visit my dorm room 2 days before July 4th weekend(he was actually a player!) and when I returned, you got it, "someone" had stolen everything. Two months later my "friend" was busted....they may be closer than you think. My heart goes out to your son.

This kind of post is almost as painful as the robbery!

My son was on full ride football scholarship for two years (40-50 hours a week for those who think this is a "ride!") and is now on student loans and works salvaging trucks. My son bought almost all the things himself that were stolen with saved funds he worked for -- with the exception of his bowl rings, the laptop I gave him and the cigars. His trip overseas was at the expense of his department. Where on earth do you think he can "just replace them" and from what funds? I will of course give him some cigars but he will keep them in a plastic box since his only humidor the antique one, made by a family member of a friend with Cuban anscestry, that I gave him is now the casualty of someone who thought he "could afford it." Your reply stinks.

I live on a ministers salary and a few investments from
my mother and mother-in-law. I indulge in a very few pleasures at the age of 50 -- cigars are one of them. I drive used cars and am not wealthy in any way. I struggled and worked my way through college, seminary, and graduate school -- ALL at my own expense -- a gift from no one and I still am paying on the debt. I also raised 4 children and put them though school along with their scholarships, and personal loans and jobs.
