Have any of you ever bid and won one of these? Or have you even heard of them? The only info that I could find on this company was in the UK and prices were listed in pounds...didn't see this particular watch listed either.

http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot.cfm?lotID=85721

I thought $7 bucks was a fabulous deal...just hope it's not a junky watch...live and learn!

I know, another line is: you get what you pay for...but hey, at auction, you never know!

I did some research on these. They are made by a company that primarily provided watches for promotions (i.e. company logo on watch, etc.). Expect the same quality you would get for the watches you see at gas stations for $12-$20). With this information I decided instead to bid and win on a Swiss Army watch from Cigarbid for $34 instead. (Nice watch/great deal).

I won one for $5 earlier. When it arrived, it didn't work. I called and complained, and they said a number of them were sent out with dead batteries. I through a battery in it and it seems to keep good time.

Jims, what does E-Chick have to do to get one,LOL.
BTW,I won one for $5. For $5,not a bad watch. Looks like a more expensive one. X

The description says, 'The chronograph dials are ornamental and non-functioning.'

... that should tell you a little about them.

BTW, 9.00 British Pound = 14.43960 US Dollar ...

I bought one because my son was in the room when I was looking at the merchandise.

He says, "Ooooooooh, daddy it's a watch."

I clicked on it and he said, "It's kinda like yours"

I replied, "Not quite son"

Then he looks at it some more and says "Don't I have an allowance that's overdue?"

I looked at him as he was eyeballing the computer screen. My fingers inched over to the mouse and a familiar click was heard. I placed a relatively low bid. Moments later the computer fired back a well-known "Briiii-iiiinnnnnnng"! My son raced to the computer and the email stated we'd won the auction.

He's a 10 year old with a Larex Cronograph, and all I can say is thank God He doesn't know how about Breitling!

Thanks for the replies...

It's sorta what I intuitively expected...like I said, you get what you pay for, but hey, at auction, you never know!

I'll give it to a son or neighbor kid...

Echick: just head across the border (TJ) and you can buy a really nice looking fake Rolex or Omega for $15. Of course, the life expectancy is short lived on these, but darned if they won't fool everyone who sees them (excepting jewelers).

I have a few Rolmex watches from south of the border. I was really picky and bartered the heck out of them. One of them is a pretty darned nice kinetic watch. I figured it wouldn't last, but it has worked perfectly for a year ($20). The others are just worn once a week maybe...but they look real.

I have a real TAG, some of my friends ask if I bought it in Mexico as well. That perturbs me.

I wouldn't buy any $7 watched from here or anywhere for me. If one of my kids wants one...then I would do it as well.
