My favorite scene: Martin Ball ascending the stairs . . . Hitchcock was truly a master filmmaker.

THAT, is absolutely the ONLY way you're going to appreciate this picture ... TV is far too cool a medium to convey the intensity that is Psycho ...

On a scale of 1-10, Psycho rates a 10 if seen on the big-screen, but no more than a 2 or 3 on TV ... since the film is older than a lot of you and as old as most of the rest, I'll be a lot of you have never seen it on a big-screen ... and if not, all I can say is you haven't seen it yet ... same goes for Hitchcock's "The Birds" or "North By Northwest" ... along those same lines, the Audrey Hepburn / Alan Arkin thriller "Wait Until Dark" is not a bit frightening on TV but almost comedic ... when that was shown first-run in the theatres, the last 10 or 12 minutes were run in total darkness (aisle lights/exit signs, etc turned off) and when Arkin leaps out at her near the end, audiences literally rose out of their seats by a good foot or more and screamed out loud ... on TV, that same scene is so ho-hum, it hardly rates an "uh, oh" ...

Yes .. catch these on the big-screen if you can, because on TV, you'll never understand what you're missing

I'll concur with the Wait Until Dark analogy. That was cool! You brought back a neat memory.
Now if you could do the same for "The Big Bus"

One of the best of all movies! Perkins was great as Norman Bates, "After all a Mother is a boy's best friend"!
