It is me. I read someone's opinion about a certain cigar, which opinion I respect a little. So when I see a 5-pak of these cigars on auction, I put in a bid that I think was reasonable for such a fine-sounding cigar, along with a bid on a couple other 5-paks that are in my regular rotation.

This morning I find I have won the unknown 5-pack, but not my regulars. Then I look up the price of the stupid cigars on the internet and find my 'winning' bid is more than the singles price when purchased by the box, which it is my practice never to bid. And this is before shipping charges! Then I realize that it is Thursday morning and I am paying shipping for one lousy stinking 5-pack which is my only winning bid for the week.

Ready, fire, aim!

You may have bid too much for them, but at least those are excellent cigars. I've overbid on cigars that turned out to be awful. Forget how much you paid and enjoy the smoke!

You should never smoke cigars that you paid too much for.
Send them out as gifts, starting with each who has posted in this thread.
We'll appreciate the Expensive gift you sent, whereas you'll simply lament over the price and ruin your smoking experience.

I try not to over bid, but probably have somewhere along the line. I saw someone yesterday, bidding $13 on a 5 pack that CI sells for $10... They didn't do their homework!! Or maybe they were trying to bump up a price to spite someone and it backfired..
I guess everyone has their own limits on what they are willing to pay for something they want.
