have my first one two minutes ago...i found it was great untill the last 1 1/2" it got bitter tasting....what do you guys think of them

I think they are OK, but the Best Sellers are better for a few pennies more. I think the CAO cammies and Flor de Oliva grand cammies are just as good. The FdeO robusto cammie is about the same size and given the same humi time, I think the FdeO is better. As for the larger Hemmi cammies, other than the Best Seller, I don't know. CAO and Fuente cammies run about the same price, but I think the CAO cammies are better after more humi time than the Fuente, especially the Belicoso and the Toro. I just picked up two Best Sellers that I plan on smoking this Summer on my fishing trip. I'll have some FdeOs and CAO cammies to compare them to.

I love the short stories. Perhaps my favorite of the Hemingway line. That little **** packs a ton of flavor. A nice ( cheaper and easier to find)alternative is the Don Tomas cameroon perfecto #2. I've seen them around for about $50 a box.

For only a little more than 100 per cent more money you can have an Ashton VSG Enchantment which is a great smoke about the same size and shape. Are Fuentes in general maybe a little over rated? I think so. Overpriced? That too, IMNSHO.

Funny thing is of course the Aston VSG IS a Fuente! And a great smoke!

I haven't yet found any fault with the ones that I've smoked. Yummy!

Maybe you should try the ****. You know, after you light it, give it a quick blow to clear any unwanted stuff out...

The short stories are excellent! If you had one with a little bite to it, you were probably robing the cradle. Fuente is no exception to the rule. AGE AGE AGE before beauty! I have a box of 858 sungrowns that have been down for about a year mmmmmm. Maybe I'll try one this weekend 🙂

Smoking a Classic right now as I poke around the C-Bid site on the laptop in my hotel room. Have about the equal of a box at home between Classics and Signatures. Haven't found Short Stories yet, but have heard nothing but good about 'em.

Problem I have with the Short Story is I'll smoke three or four of them to get a good long smoke.

you smoked it too fast. that's a 45 minute cigar. maybe too much heat too fast, i don't know. good idea to slow it down and enjoy it more.

The Short Story is like playing 9 holes of golf. Helluva lot better than no golf but it's not an official match unless you go 18.

I read this thread the other day and was interested by someone's comment on aging the Short Story. The last one I smoked was like smoking a jalepeno pepper. So I smoked another one last night that was purchased at a different store and it was like a totally different cigar. Guess you were right. Now I have two left, one from each store. I can smoke one right now and the other needs to age. Hmmm....now which one is which?

Never smoked a short story, I like the bigger cigars and I know they are supposed to be good, but not my cup of tea, give me a La Gloria Serie R any day!
