I was having so many computer problems when I got back, I forgot to tell the folks in the area that they can be found at Captain Hunt's at Seaport Village ...

... and at very reasonagble California prices too! I believe they were $6 plus change each, which really surprised me. When I was there, they had almost a full box (opened), and I'm not sure if they had any more sealed hiding somewhere ...

E-Chick --- sorry about that, but it was a hassle for me to get around. Since the seminar my wife was teaching was right in the hotel ... we didn't rent a car.

I got around using my sister when she wasn't working (she and her family live in Chula Vista), busses and the 'Old Town Trolley' ... and it was a pain in the arse!

Now get over to Captain Hunt's and get a couple of the 858SG's before the are gone ... you won't regret it!

Walk in the humidor, and make an immeadiate left. They are in a box in the right-hand corner, I believe on one of the middle shelves in the corner. Look for the Flor Fina 858 with the cedar sleve and the black band on the foot ...

I've been looking for those for a while but my local shops don't have them. I would loved to have purchased a few of those. Does that place do mail order, Phone number, etc?

Hey Slim, my local cigar shop has 2 opened boxes of them. I picked up a couple to try on your praise. They were $6.95 each...a real splurge for me. I'll let you know when I smoke one.

jd1, I don't know if my local shop will sell an opened box but I'll check. If they want the $6.95 x 25 for the open box it's more than I'd be willing to spend.

I'll have to get back to you with a price and availability.

Bud,yes that would be steep, but maybe a 3-way split would make it more reasonable. C'mon Slim !!

The next thing you need to find out ... are there any full boxes for sale? These are extremely limited in production (and have only been released 3 times), and most tobacconists limit them (2 per day, for example) ...

This late after the relase (Nov./Dec.), it's not going to be an easy task, although some retailers don't care if they've got them for sale ...

BTW ...

MSRP is around $125 to $135 (actually less, but you won't ever find it) ...

The store manager told me they had a "full opened box" along with about 5 or so left in one.

I'm going to stop by this week an see.

These are also on another auction site at 159...but he doesn't post the shipping cost.

Get them while you can ... I just read over at CF (a post from Carlito, himself) that, "The 8-5-8 Sungrown is not scheduled to be released in 2003" and "There will be no more 858 SG." ...

Take it for what it's worth ... but I think (for who knows how long, if ever again) we have seen the last release (2002) of this incredible cigar!

OK SLIM: Just made a purchase on those Flor Fina 858 SG. Since I love most of the AF lines, esp, the Don Carlos. I can't wait to give these a try especially after all the hype posted. Will let you know.
