In a immigration/customs faux paux of mythic proportion, the entire Venezuelan Women's softball team was detained as they tried to enter the USA for a charity event.
With Venezuelan/US relations at an all time low, President Bush was keen on arriving at the scene personally to apologize for the mixup and make sure the young women were being treated well.
Upon the President's arrival at the border detention center, he and his staff were surprised to learn that the women had been conscripted by a local unnamed produce company and were already busy at work picking and cleaning carrots.
"They seemed quite content on the carrot line.....with their crazy Venezuelan sweaters and softball caps......Hell one of them even knitted me an Alpaca sweater", the president told reporters.
There has been no official comment from the produce company, but investigators are currently trying to determine how exactly the girls were allowed to handle the produce without gloves.
