This is the first in a series of reviews on cigars #1 through #10 received in a trade from a most generous brother of the leaf in Penguin13.

The #1 is about a 5.5x42; light brown wrapper, rather veiny with a rough cap. Not much of a prelight aroma. After toasting the foot and lighting I found it produced an easy draw and mountains of smoke.
Not much of a flavor profile; it was rather woody and slightly vegetal aftertaste; could be young. Quite one dimensional but I've graduated to really full-bodied sungrown sticks so this could be the reason why it appeared this way. It was mild to medium-bodied, had an even burn and an off white ash.

So what was it? I'm really reaching here but I'm going to guess:
Puros Indios #4 natural?
5-Vegas corona?

I think vegetal is a made up word.

True Mean..true. A better description would be a "grassy" taste. Anyway, it wasn't very pleasant.
It was a woody type taste with no complexity and the finish left a grassy taste. There; best I can do. Sorry penguin13. Bet this is an ISOM...if it is; beware, not all ISOMs are winners; they can have dog rockets just like the rest. Looking forward to reviewing smokes #2 - #10.

These have no labels by the way; just bands labeled 1-10.

I should mention that these mystery sticks were in addition to the bonus sticks penguin13 sent. A most generous fellow. Thanks penguin13!

No problem 🙂 I think the best way to get a review of a cigar is to take the band off and give it to a seasoned smoker. And no, it wasn't an ISOM. Those bands stay on...I think!

This is fun. You've got me on the edge of my seat. Keep us posted on all the other results too.

ps Vegetal is a commonly used botanical term to refer to this of plant origin/character. I believe it is also Portuguese for Vegetable/Plant.

Thanks penguin13; we agreed that I'd shoot straight from the hip. I'm going to forego trying to guess the actual name in the future unless I'm absolutely positive or just wanna!

On a scale of 1-10 "penguins" (1 being the worst) I'd give this one 4 penguins.

#2 coming shortly.
