???

I'm not sure what that means, but the ones smithbw has have a completely different band than this one does ... that was what I was questioning.

I'm curious as to why they put one of the regular bands on this for the photo ... and didn't leave on the specially made 'embossed' ones that came with the release.

Very interesting ... and just goes to show you how much deceit their is out there regarding cigars.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I've been stung by "Fauxhibas" from Mexico, so I know how it feels. Someone's recent post showed a counterfeit band. Check out this website and you'll see what I mean.

The rows of white squares are what gives them away. The real Cohibas only show 2 rows above the name. These distinctly show 3. I have one left and don't know what to do with it. I can't bring myself to smoke it or throw it away.

Right, there are a number of other anomalies including where the chevron is located, if there's a cedar separator between the cigars, if there's a cut in the separator, the details on the seal and the box. All the cigars should be uniform in length and band placement, etc... Perfect when the box is opened. etc. etc. etc... Been there, done that. Had real ones and fake ones too. Real Cohibas can be most excellent, but sometimes they have quality control issues too. What can you expect from a communist country 🙂 I actually told “my mule” not to bring any more Cohibas because some I received from him were undoubtedly counterfeit. He took them back, no questions asked. But he’s gotten me real Bolivars, and Monte’s and there’s a box of Robinias (sp) coming! Those are usually a safer bet. Not as oft counterfeited.
