Hello all. It's been mentioned on this forum that one can purchase a digital hygrometer at WalMart. Exactly in what department is this item located? I've been to two different WalMarts on two occasions and have yet to find it or a sales associate who thinks they stock it.

Electronics Dept. would be my best Walmart shopping guess.

Thanks. Tried that already. The gentleman said to try the Garden dept. because that's where the thermometers are. Garden sent me to Hardware, where in fact the thermometers were located, but no hygrometer.

Also tried their website, to no avail.

someone has obviously misinformed you! Walmarts have different sized stored I would only assume that you could find a hygrometer in the super walmarts! I have one next to me and the response from most of the employees was "A What?"

My local Walmart has them mingled in among the thermometers as well as hardware items.

Hummmm ... mentioning competitors again?

Just something to think about ... I've seen posts like this go 'bye-bye' many times, if they pick up on them.

It's best to exchange this type of info through email ... and then the 'Forum Rules & Conditions' are breached.

Although this particular situation is not exactly stated in the 'Forum Rules & Conditions', I think their reasoning is ... that folks are being steered away from getting the same type of product here. The attention is being drawn to outside sources, and where to get that particular item ... or that their forum is being used as a ‘megaphone’ to promote a competitor that sells similar items.

... just a heads up!

... and that should have read, "... aren't breached." LOL!

Um... I meant to say the best place to buy them is either on C-Bid or Cigars International.. That's where the best stuff and the best deals are !!!

Buying anything at Walmart, that you want to last, is not a good idea anyway. Most things I have purchased there, either don't work when you get them home, break within a week, or last just long enough that a new model has come out and you can't get an exchange.
Even Brand names.

P.S. My local Walmart has them. I prefer the quality you get at c/bid and C I. Not to mention MUCH BETTER CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

Slim,

A little off the subject, but why did the
Fire "Tripple-Fermented" get yanked?

I think some posts had links to competitor's websites.

octowings --- at least you acknowledged that you are 'thread-jacking' ... LOL! Now I won't have to 'slap' you ... 😉

Basically ... it was for the exact same thing that is happening on this very thread.

He sent me an email saying he hated to do it, thought about it ... even took it to his supervisor ... who suggested that he pull it.

... and much of what I said above, is close to what he told me in his email to me about these type of posts. I just re-worded it enough to not exactly quote him from a private email, which I feel would have been a breach of his confidence.

gotcha slim!

knaccachian,

When buying one go with a digital. IMO they're
much more accurate and you don't have to tap on
the things to get them to work right.

Lowman --- no competitor's were mentioned.

He told me the reason was, that a lot of attention was being drawn to my post regarding other sources. He also explained to me that although the competitors name, site, or location was not given, the forum was being used as a ‘megaphone’ to promote a competitor.

Trish also sent me and email regarding THIS thread(Trish, I hope you don't mind me mentioning it here), because after I posted, I had second thoughts that I may have gotten out of line.

I emailed her to tell what I had done (and that I may have overstepped my boundries), and for her to immediately delete my post if I was in the wrong.

She got back to me, and told me that I was correct, but that she was going to leave it (for now, as Steve has the final word), because they have a very limited variety of digital hygrometers and this type of posting doesn’t bother them as much.

So ... the bottom line is, it goes back to what she stated in another recent post ...
