With a couple years on them and a yellow cello, it still has a kick. Smoked a torp on the way home from work. Herfing

I just don't have that kind of storage to devote two years to a cigar it's lucky to last six months before the culling. I don't get the whole I want to buy these cigars so I can sit on it for two years.

You should try it, find some cigar you really like, and purchase a humidor just for storage, Then let em sleep. I had a about 75 sticks in a humi stored at my folks house for about 20 months. When I got those sticks, some were really really good. Aged tobacco has a nice mellow flavor to it. and There are some sticks that benefit more from aging than others. Im sure the Fog's or Vets would tell us which ones they had luck with if we asked really nicely. I have my thoughts already, But would like to know more. I do know Maduro's are great to age. And That San Cristobal is about one of the best smokes Ive had. I like DPG MUCHO GUSTO

NOTE: Theres alot of information out there one just needs to take a little time doing some research. As always personal experience is really helpful

Philly (#3), it's not that I wanted a bunch of storage, it's just that I found this place a few years ago and it just happened...actually, my supply and demand quickly exceeded my consumption, and I needed the storage. LOL I hardly buy cigars anymore so I'm starting to finally see gaps opening up in my storage. It's easy to age your cigars when you have...well...a lot...and smoke a little.

It looks like I have one more San Cristobal left and it's the longer, skinny one (not lancero), and looks like it has the pigtail cap.

Nice....

My buying outpaces my consumption so not too hard to have at least a few of each purchase rest a bit. I like trying the new blends and I cant keep up. Then when one starts throwing differnt vitolas in the mix....sigh,,,,

Mmmm...Mmmmm...good!

My box of Clasicos has a couple years on it.
My Guajiros(pigtail cap) box has over a year on it.

They're gonna smoke great! After all, they ARE Ashtons.

My situation is like DaveinCincy. I smoke less than I buy,
so some smokes get to rest for a good while. I smoke 'em
down in good weather and stock up in the winter, but I
'can't resist a great deal, so I bought a Vinotemp for more
room/box storage. Boxes currently sitting:

RyJ Reserve maddies and Oliva V torps, both over 3 yrs old
Oliva MB3, almost a year
AF Hemi Sig maddies, 30 months
LA Cien Anos robustos 18 months
Diablo Calientes, over 3 yrs.
I'm currently smoking a box of CAO Brazilias from just b4 SCHIP,
and finishing some Oliva V lanceros from 18 months ago.

Another problem is the crew that I herf with is extremely generous
with smokes. I ALWAYS go home with more smokes than I start with!
Nice problem. Always fresh sticks to try.

Life is goood!

Hemi maddies were everywhere last year.
Let me see what I can find.
I had one with plume on it the previous year,
so I HAD to get a box!

Been so long since I had a Diablo, I can't really
review them atm. At $35-40/box they were a
vg closeout deal!

had a seleccion del sol the other night and was not quite expecting that spice bomb. wasnt really my favorite because it was quite a dry cedar spice unlike the spice from AJ sticks which i love. gave me a bit of a nic buzz as well

Smoking a San Cristobal generously sent to me by zito. First half was more mellow than I remember and quite pleasant.

Now in the second half and HELLO Spice! Much different than the ones I smoked in the past.

Of course this one had some nicely yellowed cello which I removed before smoking as per usual custom...

Thanks again Tim!

I picked up some Hoyo de Monterrays from 1999 when a butt hut closed up and then the parent company sold out. They are outstanding, so I have been keeping cigars to age since. Most improve with a year or more on them. I am just getting into cigars I bought and was gifted in 2008. But I have an upright freezer for a freezador, so storage is easy. Herfing
