Having a few moment's extra time, I read all the posts in this thread. I was, frankly, amazed at Digisle's comment directed to Rickamaven:

"Rickey dickey...
So you served, big deal."

Yes!! It is a big deal. Everyone of us that put on the uniform of this country did his part to insure that disrespectful little boys can play at their keyboards and make thoughtless comments.

It is a national disgrace that a veteran who suffers hearing loss from hours of firing a mortar in battle has to wait up to two years to get a hearing aid from the VA. And heroes who spent years in POW camps and lost their teeth through beatings and malnourishment have to wait years for dentures.

Rick and every current and former serviceman and woman here, former SSgt Steve*R salutes you with honor and respect.

jd1, email sent. Thanks.

Rick. I do have insurance, but I work for a start-up company that is fairly small so our insurance sucks, but it is better than nothing. Part of the reason the prescription costs so much is that is NOT listed on the "preferred" list of drugs.

I may have to check the internet as you suggest. Thanks!

usahog: My personal issue with this administration is that corrective action has not been taken. The Congress has a Republican majority. The President is a Republican and the problems with funding that may have originated in the previous administrations are not being corrected. It's very easy to lay blame, and that's all that being done! This administration has the legislative and executive power to correct the problems, but has done little, if not, nothing.

RDC - Are there any healthcare for kids programs in your area? I know they have insurance programs around here that can greatly reduce the burden. Most I'm sure are tied to income so I don't know about your elgibility, but it's worth a shot!!
