^Only had the 64 Diplomatico. Bought a 5ver, smoked 2 or 3, can't remember, and then either sold or traded the rest. My sweet spot is the earthy, toasty flavor with no hints of spice or leather. I got a bit of that biting flavor from the 64. I must admit that it was a few years ago and my palate has changed a bit. I do enjoy the CAO Boss and the Camacho Triple Maduro quite a bit. Just never gave it a thought to try them again.

SteveRs version of premium is squewed towards his favor... Ie they can market crap as premium....

At least Steve's answer is easy to follow. Tee, your right; every area in business has a misused terminology to push product. But since it is industry standard, I guess it makes sense to follow it. If everyone takes there own opinion on it, trades get tough to do. My premium and someone elses would vary and make for confusion.

Super premium is where things get cloudy. Is it a dollar amount? And is that MSRP or realistic price? Gurkhas RP is $20+ but Opus X are around $12. Which is more likely the super? Easy call.

And then there is bundle versus box. I've had some cheap crap that came in a box. And some finely made sticks that due to a sale, where offered as bundles.

Okay, since I just asked more questions and didn't answer anything earlier, IMHO:

Cigars in the $10 range (actual going price) would be considered super premium.

Any cigar that I enjoy so much that I smoke 'em when I want something 'special'

The only thing with that philosophy Fishy, is when a cigar you like goes out of production, no matter the cost, it tends to become "special".

Think about your favorite 5 Vegas A vitola. They are just a premium now because they are cheap and plentiful, but imagine if they were no longer available. Can a cigar BECOME a super just due to scarcity?

I like auction prices dictating because the manufacturer didn't decide the price and the retailer didn't decide the price. The smoker did, and that is the best determination of value, though still a broad one.

If I like a cigar ... then it's a 'super premium'.

That's all that matters to me, not all they 'hype' that cigar manufacturers put in their marketing hyperbole.

It could be a 50¢ cigar ... and if it's a good cigar ... then it's a 'super premium'.

So it seems. I was really thinking there was a standard like classic and antique cars or reposado and anejo tequila. Thought the supers had more care, maybe a master level cigar roller if there is such a thing and more aging
