when one's tour of duty has ended and one is forced to stay beyond one's tour, or one is called back into service at age 68, the volunteer part ends.

I'll take your point, Rick, but don't call the 68 year old someone's child to make Michael Moore's.

Rick....your take on Military service in interesting. So...when one signs up for service...he/she has options?

You have two choices...sign up and serve as long as you are asked/told to serve or don't sign up to serve at all.

Anyway...M.M. had an agenda and he stuck to it....ignoring tough questions.

Re-call to duty is part of the deal. Read the contract. Even after VN, I'm still subject and I'm a creaky old man. In fact there is no real law governing anyone's service, just rules. And those can change on a dime. Ask any WWII vet, some of those guys were horribly surprised to be called.

Moore has a premise, if he lets it fail, the house of cards comes down. The money machine halts. He's makin' money off dead GI's and he says Bush is evil.

Well after touting the skills of these 2, I got in the car and called my guitar player before I headed of to band practice. He read the interview on the Drudge and said it was pretty weak. I wasn't going to be late to drinking and smoking, ahem, I mean band practice to see this.

Sounds like he was correct. Too bad.

I am a veteran....Navy....I am a member of the American Legion and I would glady go back in the service if I were not above the age limit for what I am/was trained to do....Naval Flight Officer (RIO), but that said....I would go in as a logistics officer or as a flite deck operations officer if the Navy would allow me to do so! No question about it!

I liked it before Charlie

LOL

Anyway...service is a choice...not a job you can give or take. Rick's choice to not leave home to serve is out of context. He can't and would never be asked anyway. Moot point. But there are a vast...I mean VAST majority of the people of this country of AGE to serve, who would gladly do so.

I would gladly fly for the Navy... Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, Coast guard, Reserves did they not require 20/20. That's where I'm trained.

I know my opinion doesn't mean much but I like O'Reilly most of the time anyway. I didn't see the interview, but have seen some of O'Reilly's shows. My 0.2 cents worth.

Moore is like a rhino. He is nearsighted, stupid and his "charges" are very damaging, but only for a short time. Once you survive the initial charge, the rhino drops dead, and once you get past the fiction of what he shows, Moores crap also drops dead.
