Wooohoooo! I had been looking for a little bit now, tired of trying to keep my 6 little 20 ct humidors all in check... Wanted all the sticks in one place. Couldn't spend $600 and didn't find much else I thought I liked or would be functional for me. So, I bought a 150 qt cooler, made shelves, and bought $100 in cedar trays. Murphy's Law - One week later, a friend's brother in law buys a tower and this cabinet becomes mine!

Don't know what it will hold, it is 36" x 31" x 17". It looks so big I don't know if I'll ever fill it!

Just wiped down and put 8 cedar trays in it and a couple of bowls of distilled water. It is sitting at 65% right now, hope it goes up a bit and holds soon. I also put in an Oust fan. Any suggestions you guys have are welcomed.

I am super pumped about this and as soon as I am not overbudget and brok'd again, I will start filling this bad boy up. Don't know where it originated from, has a tag inside of it saying it is for commercial use... Whatever, it's mine now!

Humidity had dropped to 55% this morning, so I wiped down the trays again and put them back in. It spiked to 79% after 1 hour, then dropped to 70% by the time I left for work another hour later. Left the bowls of distilled water in there as well as the two large humidifiers with propolyne glycol solution. Don't know if I am doing this right or how long it will take to stabilize at 70%.

Also noticed the temp was at 68 and I am afraid it will get even colder as we get into winter. If temp gets down around 60, is that still OK? Or do I need to find a warmer location in my house?

Nice looking humi there. I wouldn't worry too much about the RH as long as it's below 70, as the cold them I think 60 should be find. I actually like to keep my cigars around 63/63 plus or minus a couple degrees and RH. So, 60 degrees sholdn't be a problem at all.
I will however check the seal of the unit and make sure it's sealed properly.

Sweet looking humi there and congrats on getting more space.

Now for advice, cut up all the CC's. LOL

I personally, if temp gets to 60, i keep humidity up near 70. As temp goes up to around 63-69, I keep humidity around 62-65. I do not like the 70 humidity as most of my cigars do not smoke well at 70.

Looks awesome. Dont stress about the humidity if the thing is empty. Once you get cigars in there, the humidity will stabalize. When you get home, throw them in and shut the doors. All will be well.

Thanks for the advice guys. As far as checking the seals and doors, do I just use a flashlight or something to make sure there are no air gaps? I think I will take your advice and put cigars in there tonight. Also got some empty boxes to put in there - I heard that having some things in there to take up space helps to stabilize it.

Yeah, definitely gonna have to try to keep a tight grip on the CC's, at least until after the Holidays... I'm sure that won't work!

Thanks again!

Easy there fellas... Pretty sure all those sticks you sent me not too long ago will take up some space in there Javier! And I've got a few coming from you too Busa... so I'm sure I will start to get it filled up!

Yep, they are sliding doors - they nest into the sides and have a magnet that holds them.

To check the seal, I like to use the snifting method. I put cigars in and sniff around the seems and see if I can tell if I got cigars in there or not, LOL. All kidding aside, flashlight might work. But on sliding doors, I always want to be sure, since there could be gaps around the edges. You could go to a Home improvement store and get some of the window edge seal and use on the edges of the inside humidor, also on the sliding edge of the front glass(I would looke for the fuzzy kind, they glide better on the doors).
Also as TJ said, just put the cigars in and it should be fine, I would however suggest you put the cigars in boxes then in the humidor, so there isn't a huge shock for the cigars form opening that huge door every time.
