Some Tabak Especial and some other troop goodies should be landing soon. We behaved, so no surprises.

"Beth, We got some mail in today and the word got out that all of us cigar smokers got a package in the mail. I just wanted to say thank you for thinking of us and the wonderful package that we received. The Marines in my shop will greatly appreciate the package. It’s a great way for us to relax after a long day of working on planes to be able to sit back enjoy a good cigar and talk about the day. Thank you again for the package and all your thoughts.

Sgt Jesse Stephenson"

Gee Beth, I see you bidding on matches. I won 2 boxes of 50 I was going to send you. I will wait then and see if you win any and if so I will send them to Todd or Rob.

What did we discuss? 😳 I know what you're up to, Missy, and don't you dare bomb me again!!! Hahahahaha. And I can NEVER have too many matches - I can't seem to win them, but even if I do, it's great to be able to send a bunch to the troops with their cigars, plus I always send a cutter or two, because you never know when the one guy with the cutter has left the unit or is out on patrol when they need it!

You will figure it out. The matches are for the troops. The rest is for you. Your text question last week, remember?

It is not a huge hit, relax!

Troop requests this week - Christmas packages went out this morning, the next batch will go out soon, most of the units get packages 7-15 days after I send them. PM me if you'd like to contribute and don't have my address.

Cigars of every sort, of course
Cutters & matches
Dip - Copenhagen and Grizzly are most requested by name
Snus - General, Marlboro and Camel (these are spit-free tobacco pouches, I'll admit that I like them)
Smokes - Marlboro Reds are most requested
Wet-Naps or hand wipes that don't smell like a baby's behind
Socks (see the treatise above on socks)
Drink mixes - individual packets to make water taste like something other than the inside of a canteen
Coffee - most units have a coffee pot
Anything that you would wish for being stuck over there, they would no doubt appreciate - but no alcohol, pornography (even Playboy is a no-no in middle eastern countries), and no guns, ammunition or drugs stronger than Tylenol.

Thanks to all who have contributed! If any of you who sent donations directly to me for OpFTH need a form for the IRS, please email me and I can send it to you. If you sent money or donations to OpFTH directly, please email them for the form. Thanks again! -B

Happy New Year to all! I'm topping this - the troops need these goodies now as well as at Christmas. If any of you who donated items to OpFTH through me, and you need a donation form for your taxes, please PM or email me and I'll send you one. Please send me your email to send electronically, or your address to send the old fashioned way.

(Please consult your tax adviser to determine if your donation may be tax deductible, and the extent to which anything of value which you received, such a jelly or a shirt, reduces the value of your donation. In accordance with applicable professional regulations, please understand that, unless expressly stated otherwise, any written advice contained in, forwarded with, or attached to this statement is not intended to be used, and cannot be used, by any person for the purpose of avoiding any penalties that may be imposed under the Internal Revenue Code.)

That's just fun to say, isn't it?

Hahahahaha. -B

Current troop request - of course CIGARS of every kind, as well as cigarettes and dip.

Socks - military colors in padded or tactical socks.

Snacks, candy and of course, letters and cards of appreciation are always welcome!

I'm self employed now, doing forensic accounting and investigations nation-wide, so I don't have too much time to hang here on the boards, but I'm still sending many Troop boxes every month. Thanks for your continued support! -B

I'm bumping this again - and reminding you that there's prickly pear jelly to be had for those that want it. All the troop requests are pretty much the same - but starting in October we can send chocolate and have some expectation that it might survive and be edible.

Cigars - always, even "decent" machine made like swisher sweet, or those cowboy cigars that come 5 to a baggie
Dip and cigarettes - Lots of the guys like to dip or smoke cigarettes and they appreciate receiving that.
Socks - always needed, thick tactical or hunting socks in black or OD green, no white please, they can't use them.
Candy - hard candy as always, and now we're coming up on chocolate shipping weather
Letters and cards and pictures, magazines, paper-back books, playing cards, etc.

PM me for my address to send stuff, and check the prickly pear threat in the pictures section for details if you want jelly.

Bumping this up again - most packages take 3-6 weeks to get to the guys. If you'd like to get Christmas packages to the troops, please send goodies now. To send through me and OpFTH, PM me for my address on Smith Ave in Albuquerque, and send what you can.

Requests, as always, include:

Cigars, of course, and accessories like cutters, matches, humi-packs, etc.
Dip, Pouches, Snus and smokeless tobacco. (I like General Mini Mint Snus, personally, but they're hard to find.)
Cigarettes - Marlboro is the most requested brand.
Socks - especially tactical socks, nothing in white please, only black, tan or OD green
Candy - this time of year we can actually send chocolate and expect it to arrive in edible condition
DVDs, paperback books, and magazines - recent magazine, please.

Thanks to all who so generously give to OpFTH. The guys and gals are so grateful, and so am I. -B

The government shutdown means that military families are not getting all their benefits. You can bet many of them will not be able to send packages to their troop loved ones.

PM me for an address to send cigars and other goods to our Troops. -B
