If my wife told me to quit, I would quit IMMEDIATELY.

Then, I would put my testicles back in a jar on top of my desk where they belong.

They are prosthetics so it's ok.

My ex has the originals. Ask Wes(gonesledn). He knows the sordid story.

Are you guys men or sheep? I cannot believe all the wimpy answers on this thread! What would Sir Winston do? How about Mark Twain? How about Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger? They are all/were real men and would laugh at such a request!
Blood get your balls back and refuse to quit!

Here , here Charlie, tell them. First of all, if she loves him she could not take away something that he enjoys. That would just be asking for the beginning of the end. It would be brought up in every little argument. I'm sorry, "discussion".

My ex wife never asked me to quit...she just divorced me. My new beautiful, loving, most excellent wife handled it much better.....she bought us a cigar company so we could enjoy it together. Sweet or what???

WOW. That was really nice. Thanks. I am so glad his ex wife divorced him. :*)

Back to the topic, sorry...

I would agree that it should never be an ultimatum. She could nicely and gently ask but she should never say you can't. It just makes you want to do something even more when someone tried to forbid it. There needs to be a good solid reason for someone to say "you have to or else." If it is a matter of life or death that is different but I say get the balls back out of the jar and stand up for yourself.

PS: Is the aforementioned Mr. John Hays related to the gentleman who was: Asst. Private Secretary to President Lincoln, Ambassador to Great Britain, and
Secretary of State to President McKinley?

John Hay was in fact the private secretary to Abe Lincoln and etc. We are not related to him, but my brother in laws great grandfather had asked John Hay if he could use his name for his cigar company back in 1882. We took over that company this past summer.

Well if you are smoking one when she asks you to quit .... just ask her to hold it for a second ... and say "wow .... I never noticed just how sexy you look with the smoke cloud around you ... and you know what .... you need another ring for that hand too..."

Hell my doctor told me I need to get down to 150 pounds or I might start expirencing health problems associated with being over weight....
I undoubtedlly have one of the best wives in the world! I get very little $%^& from her, I in turn give her anything she wants within reason.... See the Washer/Dryer post.
Sooner or later we all die(isn't that a movie line?) and life is way too short to let some over paid quack scare you or your family. I guess it depends on what you believe as to whether you want to hang around or see what happens after death?
As for me... if it's time to go, I'm ready. Besides I might be able to get some real ISOMs then.

LOL seriously

I think I know of the post you speak of. I would get rid of the wife. If she aint happy with the way I am then she wont ever be happy till I'm what she wants me to be.

My wife asked me to quit....

buying cigars for a while. I gladly obliged, after all, as long as I don't smoke in the house, she doesn't complain. She has asked me to put a cigar down every now and then, but she has yet to tell me to put one out.
(Of course, the comment does come up about how many cigars I need...)

Very nice to meet you CigarBidWidow.
You seem like a very lovely lady, er, you do too Red.

If you and your husband's excellent posts are indicative of what your cigar line is like, then you will be very successful (if you are not already).

Nice to meet you too Bloody. If you happen to be at Cigar Fest, we will see you there.

Thank you for the kind words. That is what we are hoping for. 🙂

I would have to smoke many fine cigars to get over a woman who would put me in a box like that. Then, the next morning, I'd be fine.

I don't smoke in the house in the winter, because I don't care for the after-effects. I smoke in the house in the summer, and outside all summer, of course. In the winter I go to cigar-friendly pubs and eateries.
