Forgive me if this has already been posted, but in the event that it wasn't, some interesting reading on aging here:

If what's written here is true I doubt I'll be around long enough to experience an "ethereal" cigar.

Eh I have my doubts, some cigars don't age well into their 20 while I'm sure some in there 20's are phenomenal. Smoke a cohiba gran reserva in a couple years.....doesnt need 20 to be "ethereal". And at the same time I think you might need a really great palatte to appreciate a 20 year old cigar.

Smoked a new one this week ... LGC Immenso. Good cigar, not very complex or dynamic, though. A cigar that big should have some twists and turns. Still, it was very yummy. I smoked it while video-chatting with my brother, and that was perfect. I would probably go for a 5er if given the opportunity.

By all accounts, Min Ron Nee is an ass and a tool. It really is a crime that Adriano Martinez Rius was only listed as an "Honorary Consultant" on the Encyclopedia as he did most of the work for the book. MRN can drink is $1,000 a cup tea and stick his cigars up his dumper as far as I'm concerned. [frypan]

^ it doesn't take much looking around Ray to know pretty much everyone who smokes Boli prefers the PC, and by many accounts, is one of their favorite smokes....which includes the facet of being a consistent performer.

I'm not a Boli guy, as the profile just isnt my favorite, but I do more than my share of reading up.

Boli PC and it's not close.

Now all ya gotta do is find someone to buy the box, and split em with you. Or start a "really wish I had some to try post/thread" and hope someone sends you a few of each.

Bolis just are more maduro'esque to me. IMO, they have just those darker earthy, chocolate/spice notes that im just moving away from more and more these days. I've had some good Bolis (GMs, CE, BBF etc) don't get me wrong, but none that made me want to run out and grab a box. Still have 10-15 of various sizes in my Humi to see if that changes over time though.

Said it to you long ago as I recall Ray, but the Boli profile is right in your wheelhouse.

KPP- what are some of your favorite cc's?

I think your right on with the flavor profile for the most part. Thats why a lot of people like them, just picked up some BBF's. '11's though so they will be in the humi for awhile.

I'm a fan of most things Upmann (2, Mag 46, Sir Winston)...just grabbed some Mag 50s, and finally found a box of Royal Robusto very recently.

Also enjoy Monte (2s & PE...find the PE to be much more consistent than the 2). Don't plan to ever be out of PSD4s, 898s or Lusis. And yup, I like Cohiba too..(CoRo, Siglo IV, Behikes). Only Trini I've purchased is the Robo T, which I enjoy...although theyre a 1st smoke of the day type cigar due to being more of a mild flavor profile. And man, I fuggin' love a good RASS.

If Im craving Chocolate, I'll go with a VR Unicos. Has the chocolate element, but more cream, and with an almost floral component there too. Not so earthy/dark like the Bolis.

As you can see, I'm not about PCs or lanceros. Smallest ring I like is a 46. Wanting to branch out to some more of the CGs/CEs before they disappear (SLR Serie A, RG CE, Hoyo Epi 1 etc.). A Corona Gorda is about the prefect size smoke to me...but obviously enjoy the 2s and Robustos as well.

Thanks for the input. Fave overall size is the CG as well.

I have a box of Unicos that I really enjoy. I think VR has a pretty unique taste and I like it, I'm thinking about trying out some familiares.

If I were forced to pick one and only one size, it would probably be cg- close to a churchills and more than a p.c.
