Yep me too, I have enjoyed all of the HdM smokes thats I have tried so far. My least favorite was probably the petite robo but I think it's more of a personal preferance thing. I just don't like short robos at all, I feel like they always burn too hot and are just wierd. Kind of reminds me of nub cigars and I'm not a big fan. Maybe I should try and track down some DC's.

They are packed loose and burn hot. The key is to make a cut/shave smaller than a punch so that it still has a good deal of resistance. Totally different cigar then.

^ perhaps you should rethink that next box split...

RASS as young as 2010/2011 are also smoking well. They show their youth still a little bit, but they are no doubt going to age into something spectacular IMO.

As you can see, I'm not about PCs or lanceros. Smallest ring I like is a 46. Wanting to branch out to some more of the CGs/CEs before they disappear (SLR Serie A, RG CE, Hoyo Epi 1 etc.). A Corona Gorda is about the prefect size smoke to me...but obviously enjoy the 2s and Robustos as well.

You really should give the Lanceros & PCs a chance. Some of the best Cubans that I've had have been Lanceros &/or thin RG cigars. 😰

I almost always stick with toro sized vitolas but what Buckwheat says is very true.

I had a well-aged box of Party Serie du Conn #2 a few years ago. Those were about 7 x 38. The first I had smoked hot and I didn't enjoy it much. Next one I had I sipped it slowly and the graham cracker flavor/aroma profile was nothing short of fantastic.

Sometimes the way we smoke and when makes all the difference.

I don't really have anything against them per se, other than my smoking tendencies are not that of the "average" smoker. I only smoke maybe one or two cigars over the weekend when the weather is nice...and none during the week. Winter months, well, I can go many weeks at a time without one. I'm an outdoor/weekend/fair-weather smoker I guess you could say.

Point to that being, if I'm making time for a smoke, it's gonna be larger than a PC. And as for lanceros, well, that's just a psychological thing for me...always has been. The closest I can get down with there is a lonsdale. The Party 898 is a damn nice stick, and i've had more than a few excellent HdM Des Dieux. Been tempted to buy a cab of the 03 DDs actually but space is the prohibiting factor there.

My 2 sons were home at the same time yesterday evening, both engineering students, I am so proud, and after a big meal it was out to the porch for a few beers and a PSD4 to celebrate our time together. What an awesome cigar, smooth to the nub. The best cigar and evening I've had in a while.
